A mode‐acceleration approach has been proposed for estimating the seismic response of a linear, classically‐damped, multiply‐supported secondary system within the framework of a power spectral density function (PSDF)‐based stochastic approach, while the primary system is linear and classically‐damped. Response transfer functions have been formulated in terms of chosen numbers of fixed‐base modes of the primary and secondary systems. The proposed approach does not involve the determination of combined system properties, and is applicable to the secondary systems with high mass ratios also. Through a few example primary–secondary systems and an example band‐limited white noise excitation, it has been shown that this approach leads to reasonably accurate results when only a few primary and secondary modes are to be considered. The proposed formulation has been used to obtain input data for a decoupled response spectrum analysis of secondary systems. This data accurately accounts for the effects of interaction between the primary and secondary systems. It is shown to lead to substantial reductions in the errors associated with the envelope spectrum method in the case of moderately heavy to heavy secondary systems and when the spatial coupling does not play a major role. With the recent emergence of wavelet‐based procedures for stochastic analyses of linear and non‐linear structural systems subjected to earthquake ground motions, it has become necessary that seismic ground motion processes are characterized through statistical functionals of wavelet coefficients. While direct characterization in terms of earthquake and site parameters may have to wait for a few more years due to the complexity of the problem, this study attempts such characterization through commonly available Fourier and response spectra for design earthquake motions. Two approaches have been proposed for obtaining the spectrum‐compatible wavelet functionals, one for input Fourier spectrum and another for input response spectrum, such that the total number of input data points are 30–35% of those required for a time‐history analysis. The proposed methods provide for simulating ‘desired non‐stationary characteristics’ consistent with those in a recorded accelerogram. Numerical studies have been performed to illustrate the proposed approaches. Further, the wavelet functionals compatible with a USNRC spectrum in the case of 35 recorded motions of similar strong motion durations have been used to obtain the strength reduction factor spectra for elasto‐plastic oscillators and to show that about ±20% variation may be assumed from mean to 5 and 95% confidence levels due to uncertainty in the non‐stationary characteristics of the ground motion process. A wavelet‐based random vibration theory has been developed for the non‐stationary seismic response of liquid storage tanks including soil interaction. The ground motion process has been characterized via estimates of statistical functionals of wavelet coefficients obtained from a single time history of ground accelerations. The tank–liquid–soil system has been modelled as a two‐degree‐of‐freedom (2‐DOF) system. The wavelet domain equations have been formulated and the wavelet coefficients of the required response state are obtained by solving two linear simultaneous algebraic equations. The explicit expression for the instantaneous power spectral density function (PSDF) in terms of the functionals of the input wavelet coefficients has been obtained. The moments of this PSDF are used to estimate the expected pseudo‐spectral acceleration (PSA) response of the tank. Parametric variations are carried out to study the effects of tank height, foundation natural frequency, shear wave velocity of soil and ratio of the mass of tank (including liquid) to the mass of foundation on the PSA responses of tanks. An M4.9 earthquake occurred at the junction of Gaoyou and Baoying on July 20, 2012. In this paper, 43 sets of strong motion records of the main shock are analyzed. With these data, we analyzed the characteristics of the peak ground motion value, attenuation relation, duration and acceleration response spectrum. We draw the peak acceleration contour map of the region near the epicenter. The contour line is smooth and the trend of long axis is northwest-southeast. Distribution of peak acceleration of the observed records is basically consistent with the real intensity distribution. Compared with the predicted result based on the seismic attenuation relation proposed by Yu Yanxiang and Wang Suyunon for eastern China and the Fifth-generation ground motion zonation map, the horizontal PGA and PGV of Gaoyou-Baoying earthquake are higher than the predicted results that are based on the model of Fifth-generation ground motion zonation map, while the PGV is similar with the predicted results which are based on Yu Yanxiang and Wang Suyun's model. We regressively analyzed the spatial-temporal change curves of the two types of relative ground motion durations. Compared with the predicted results proposed by Bommer et al. (2009) based on the NGA strong motion records, the durations of all the three components of this earthquake are higher. 10 typical recordings' acceleration response spectra with 5% damping are calculated, their peak periods are around 0.1~0.3s. The acceleration response spectrum of the station 32BYT, which has the largest amplitude, is considerably larger than the Chinese code design spectra, while it becomes notably smaller when the period is larger than 0.4s. Compared with the horizontal bedrock acceleration response spectrum predicted by the attenuation relationship for the eastern part of China, the observed response spectrum shape is similar with the predicted ones, while almost all the observed response spectrum values (except station 32YCT)are smaller than the predicted bedrock acceleration response spectrum. These phenomena suggest that this earthquake has a weak impact on the seismic fortification standards in this area. Using H/V single-station spectral ratio method, amplitude and site amplification effect of the two typical stations are calculated, and the results show the H/V values are obviously larger than that of ground microtremor. This suggests that the site of the station has obvious amplification effect on ground motion.  相似文献

A Markov method of analysis is presented for obtaining the seismic response of cable‐stayed bridges to non‐stationary random ground motion. A uniformly modulated non‐stationary model of the random ground motion is assumed which is specified by the evolutionary r.m.s. ground acceleration. Both vertical and horizontal components of the motion are considered to act simultaneously at the bridge supports. The analysis duly takes into account the angle of incidence of the earthquake, the spatial correlation of ground motion and the quasi‐static excitation. A cable‐stayed bridge is analysed under a set of parametric variations in order to study the non‐stationary response of the bridge. The results of the numerical study indicate that (i) frequency domain spectral analysis with peak r.m.s. acceleration as input could provide more r.m.s. response than the peak r.m.s. response obtained by the non‐stationary analysis; (ii) the longitudinal component of the ground motion significantly influences the vertical vibration of the bridge; and (iii) the angle of incidence of the earthquake has considerable influence on the deck response. 基于欧美规范确定了坐落在深厚覆盖层上KH抽水蓄能电站上、下库场地基本运行和最大设计地震动峰值加速度、反应谱和时程等动参数。首先依据场地区域地震烈度区划图、特征周期区划图和依据场地地质地震条件选取的5条种子实测地震动确定场地基岩输入加速度时程、峰值加速度和设计反应谱,进而基于各土层地质参数和一维弹性波传播模拟程序确定覆盖层表面的平均峰值加速度、平均反应谱和5条地震动时程,对所得到的平均反应谱和峰值加速度进行光滑处理后确定可用于各建筑物结构抗震设计的地震动参数,包括覆盖层表面水平向动力响应加速度时程、峰值加速度和设计反应谱。该方法可较好地保留输入地震动的真实动力特性,如持时、相位和频率等,为我国规范中建议的确定场地地震动参数的方法提供有益的补充。  相似文献

This paper deals with the determination of critical earthquake load models for linear structures subjected to single‐point seismic inputs. The primary objective of this study is to examine the realism in critical excitations and critical responses vis a vis the framework adopted for the study and constraints that these excitations are taken to satisfy. Two alternative approaches are investigated. In the first approach, the critical earthquake is expressed in terms of a Fourier series that is modulated by an enveloping function that imparts transient nature to the inputs. The Fourier coefficients are taken to be deterministic and are constrained to satisfy specified upper and lower bounds. Estimates on these bounds, for a given site, are obtained by analysing past earthquake records from the same site or similar sites. The unknown Fourier coefficients are determined such that the response of a given structure is maximized subjected to these bounds and additional constraints on intensity, peak ground acceleration, peak ground velocity and peak ground displacement. In the second approach, the critical earthquake is modelled as a partially specified non‐stationary Gaussian random process which is defined in terms of a stationary random process of unknown power spectral density (psd) function modulated by a deterministic envelope function. The input is constrained to possess specified variance and average zero crossing rate. Additionally, a new constraint in terms of entropy rate representing the expected level of disorder in the excitation is also imposed. The unknown psd function of the stationary part of the input is determined so that the response of a given structure is maximized. The optimization problem in both these approaches is solved by using sequential quadratic programming method. The procedures developed are illustrated by considering the seismic response of a tall chimney and an earth dam. It is concluded that the imposition of lower and upper bounds on Fourier coefficients in the first approach and constraints on amount of disorder in the second approach are crucial in arriving at realistic critical excitations. 根据新《电力设施抗震设计规范》(GB50260-2013)对随机地震动功率谱参数的取值进行分析。介绍新《电力设施抗震设计规范》中设计反应谱,推导设计谱到功率谱的转换过程。选取常用的Clough-Penzien修正过滤白噪声模型作为拟合函数,通过功率谱参数拟合,得到不同场地类别、不同抗震设防烈度下的地震动模型参数。该研究成果可为电力工程抗震设计分析提供参考。  相似文献

2013年4月20日四川省芦山县境内发生MS7.0级地震,地震造成196人死亡,21人失踪,11470人受伤,震中最大烈度IX.地震发生后,中国数字强震动观测网络和成都市地震烈度速报网络分别获得了114组和63组3分量强震动记录.记录得出在近场加速度幅值较高,与汶川地震峰值相当,然而震害却不严重.本文介绍了这些记录的基本情况,分析了其地震动三要素(幅值、持时、频谱)特征以及对建筑物结构的潜在影响.分析结果表明:芦山地震PGA(地震动峰值加速度)与我国常用的霍俊荣地震动预测方程较一致,高于即将颁布的第五代区划图中使用的预测方程;PGV(地震动峰值速度)与第五代区划图中使用的预测方程基本一致;Significant持时和Bracketed持时高于全球经验预测方程,且Bracketed持时衰减显著慢于全球平均水平;典型11个幅值较大记录的5%阻尼比加速度反应谱峰值周期都在0.1~0.2 s范围内,且谱值远高于规范设计谱,但在周期0.3 s之后迅速下降至设计谱以下;芦山地震地震动PGV值较小以及对应我国中小城市和城镇主要建筑物的结构自振周期范围(0.3~1 s)内加速度反应谱远低于规范设计谱,可用于解释其震害相对较轻的原因.  相似文献

The paper presents a comparative study for computing floor response spectra (FRS) for complex structures. For the purpose of validation and evaluation of the methods for practical application, a systematic comparison of two concepts, classical deterministic and probabilistic, was carried out as an example of a nuclear power plants structure. The deterministic method utilizes time history analyses compatible with the prescribed design response spectrum. The probabilistic method uses an analysis of random vibrations for defining the probabilistic FRS influenced by random seismic soil movement. The seismic input is a power spectral density function (PSDF) compatible with the design response spectrum. The probabilistic approach based on PSDF provides satisfying FRS with far less effort and time consumption needed for calculation.  相似文献

A response spectrum method for stationary random vibration analysis of linear, multi-degree-of-freedom systems is developed. The method is based on the assumption that the input excitation is a wide-band, stationary Gaussian process and the response is stationary. However, it can also be used as a good approximation for the response to a transient stationary Gaussian input with a duration several times longer than the fundamental period of the system. Various response quantities, including the mean-squares of the response and its time derivative, the response mean frequency, and the cumulative distribution and the mean and variance of the peak response are obtained in terms of the ordinates of the mean response spectrum of the input excitation and the modal properties of the system. The formulation includes the cross-correlation between modal responses, which is shown to be significant for modes with closely spaced natural frequencies. The proposed procedure is demonstrated for an example structure that is subjected to an ensemble of earthquake-induced base excitations. Computed results based on the response spectrum method are in close agreement with simulation results obtained from time-history dynamic analysis. The significance of closely spaced modes and the error associated with a conventional method that neglects the modal correlations are also demonstrated.  相似文献

Earthquake excitation is often modelled by non‐stationary random process (i.e. uniformly modulated broad‐band excitation) for analysis of structural safety subjected to seismic hazards. In this paper, the non‐stationary response of a single‐degree‐of‐freedom (SDOF) system to non‐stationary earthquake motion is investigated for different shapes of modulating functions. The evolutionary power‐spectral density function (PSDF) of the displacement of the SDOF system is obtained using the time‐varying frequency response function and the PSDF of the earthquake excitation. The close form expressions for time‐varying frequency response function are derived for different shapes of the modulating functions. In order to study the effects of the shape of the modulating function, a comparison of the non‐stationary earthquake response of the SDOF system is also made for different modulating functions having the same energy content. A recently developed seismological model of ground motion is incorporated into the non-stationary random vibration theory making use of Priestley's evolutionary power spectral density. A general method of computing the input power spectrum is proposed and shown to reduce to the classical method when the input and the output are taken as stationary. Based on the concepts of Yang's non-stationary envelopes and first-passage reliability estimates via extreme point process, a statistical response spectrum for the pseudo-velocity is developed. Comparisons made among the results of non-stationary analysis with different modulating functions, and that of the stationary approximation, on SDOF linear structures with 5 per cent damping show that the type ofmodulating function chosen has little effect on the magnitudes of mean pseudo-velocities, provided the input power spectrum is properly scaled, and that the stationary approximation produces conservative results for structures with natural periods greater than 0.5 sec.  相似文献

因地震动输入方向对平面不规则结构响应的影响显著,所以本文对该类的实用多维反应谱计算方法进行了研究。首先,基于多维加速度功率谱矩阵的研究成果,引入激励输入角度和相应参数,推导了能合理考虑激励输入方向的加速度功率谱和基于平稳随机振动求解响应的计算公式。然后再引入位移谱,利用其能合理考虑激励非平稳性的特点,提出了水平双向的实用反应谱法计算公式。最后,以平面为L形的空间钢结构为例,对不同输入角度时的节点位移公式计算值与多条地震波的时程响应值进行了比较,证明该计算方法是合理的,可供结构抗震设计与分析作参考。  相似文献

依据《电力设施抗震设计规范》(GB50260-96)中的设计反应谱,对随机地震动功率谱参数的取值进行了具体研究。首先,采用时间包络函数考虑地震的非平稳特性,给出了地震动持时的取值;然后,根据加速度峰值等效原则,迭代计算得到地面的加速度功率谱密度曲线;最后,选定Clough-Penzien修正过滤白噪声模型作为拟合函数,通过非线性拟合技术拟合了与《规范》中的地震烈度、场地类别相对应的谱参数。研究结果表明,Clough-Penzien修正过滤白噪声模型能较好地拟合其曲线形状。本文给出了相对于规范中的地面加速度功率谱参数值,可供这种模型作为地震地面运动输入时选用。  相似文献

为了研究土层地震反应中软弱夹层对加速度反应谱的影响,本文构造了多种包含不同厚度、不同位置软夹层的土层结构,通过国内地震安评通用的ESE软件进行计算、分析。研究结果表明,软夹层的厚度、位置、输入地震动的幅值等对加速度反应谱均有不同程度的影响,上部含有软夹层的土层结构能造成反应谱出现双峰现象,引起加速度反应谱特征周期变大。本文研究结果对软土地区工程抗震设计有一定参考价值。  相似文献
