In view of the absence or insufficiency of tropical cyclone(TC) turbulence parameters in current design standards of wind turbines, in this paper, TC turbulence parameter models with roughness length involved are developed based on six landfall TCs observed from meteorological towers located on various underlying surfaces, so as to provide references for the wind turbine design under TC conditions. Firstly, the roughness length values are examined in order to reduce the effect on turbulence parameters of the various underlying surfaces. On this basis, the reference turbulence intensity is normalized by the roughness length. The related turbulence parameters are parameterized, including the turbulence standard deviation and the turbulence spectrum; and the turbulence parameters available under TC conditions for turbulence turbine design are presented finally. Comparisons of the wind parameter models presented in this paper with those used in current turbine design standards suggest that the former can represent TC characteristics more accurately. In order to withstand TCs, we suggest that the turbulence parameter models recommended in this paper be included in future wind turbine design standards under TC conditions. 相似文献

A wide set of published mass and heat transfer data is reviewed in terms of the stochastic renewal theory. A simple model is then proposed describing the transfer in terms of the fluid bulk properties. Two expressions are presented and they enable us to evaluate the bulk transfer velocity as a function of the turbulence of the flow for smooth and fully-rough surfaces in large ranges of Schmidt (or Prandtl) and Reynolds numbers. The transfer over transitional surfaces can also be evaluated by using a simple criterion for the choice of the right expression. The proposed relationships agree satisfactorily with data from laboratory and atmospheric measurements, for both solid and liquid surfaces. 相似文献

Boundary-layer flow over very rough surfaces is poorly understood so the applicability of standard micrometeorological theory is uncertain. This study presents observations of the turbulent fluctuations of meteorological parameters over a suburban area. Even though the height of measurement is considered to be close to the junction between the inertial and roughness sub-layers, the wind and temperature spectra and the momentum and sensible heat flux cospectra are in good agreement with reference data from smoother surfaces. Recommendations are made concerning site requirements, height of measurement and averaging times for the study of turbulence and turbulent fluxes over suburban terrain. 相似文献

A Wind-Tunnel Investigation of Wind-Turbine Wakes: Boundary-Layer Turbulence Effects 总被引:1,自引:1,他引:0
Wind-tunnel experiments were performed to study turbulence in the wake of a model wind turbine placed in a boundary layer
developed over rough and smooth surfaces. Hot-wire anemometry was used to characterize the cross-sectional distribution of
mean velocity, turbulence intensity and kinematic shear stress at different locations downwind of the turbine for both surface
roughness cases. Special emphasis was placed on the spatial distribution of the velocity deficit and the turbulence intensity,
which are important factors affecting turbine power generation and fatigue loads in wind energy parks. Non-axisymmetric behaviour
of the wake is observed over both roughness types in response to the non-uniform incoming boundary-layer flow and the effect
of the surface. Nonetheless, the velocity deficit with respect to the incoming velocity profile is nearly axisymmetric, except
near the ground in the far wake where the wake interacts with the surface. It is found that the wind turbine induces a large
enhancement of turbulence levels (positive added turbulence intensity) in the upper part of the wake. This is due to the effect
of relatively large velocity fluctuations associated with helicoidal tip vortices near the wake edge, where the mean shear
is strong. In the lower part of the wake, the mean shear and turbulence intensity are reduced with respect to the incoming
flow. The non-axisymmetry of the turbulence intensity distribution of the wake is found to be stronger over the rough surface,
where the incoming flow is less uniform at the turbine level. In the far wake the added turbulent intensity, its positive
and negative contributions and its local maximum decay as a power law of downwind distance (with an exponent ranging from
−0.3 to −0.5 for the rough surface, and with a wider variation for the smooth surface). Nevertheless, the effect of the turbine
on the velocity defect and added turbulence intensity is not negligible even in the very far wake, at a distance of fifteen

A method to estimate the zero plane displacement is presented that is based onin situ turbulence measurements. As it does not depend on flux-gradient relations. It can be applied over non-homogeneous surfaces if they are dynamically but not thermally distorted. The zero plane displacement at an urban site is found to vary considerably with wind direction. The results compare well with estimates from conventional methods using the heights and distribution of the upwind roughness elements. 相似文献

A wind-tunnel investigation of the wind flow over two-dimensional forward-facing escarpments is reported as part of a continuing research programme into the effects of local topography on the wind flow close to the ground. Four sharp-edged escarpments with their slopes varying between a cliff and a 4:1 gradient, were placed normal to a simulated neutrally-stable rural boundary layer which was modelled to a scale of 1:300. The resulting flows close to the surfaces of the escarpments were measured with a hot-wire anemometer. The modifications to the mean wind speed, turbulence intensity and energy spectra over the escarpments are described. The results indicate the extent and magnitude of the modification to the flow and suggest that significant changes in turbulence characteristics only occur in the wake region close behind the crest, where a shift of energy to higher frequencies is evident. 相似文献

本文利用位于南京市郊区的南京大学仙林校区SORPES观测站多层湍流观测数据分析了湍流谱特征,以白天不稳定条件下垂直速度能谱谱峰对应的长度尺度也就是离地高度为判据,探讨了运用该方法确定复杂下垫面零平面位移的可行性。统计分析表明,该方法确定的长度尺度呈现出较为一致的概率分布形状,概率最大的长度尺度对应于离地高度,在复杂下垫面情况下这个高度就是零平面位移高度到观测高度之间的距离,将观测点的离地高度减去这个距离就能得到零平面位移。本文同时运用不稳定条件下垂直速度方差在近地层中的相似关系来确定零平面位移,并与谱方法得到的结果进行对比。结果表明,谱方法和方差法得到的零平面位移非常接近。 相似文献

利用大涡模式模拟了对流边界层结构演变以及深对流触发过程。通过改变鲍恩比的敏感性试验研究不同大气初始状况下湿润和干旱下垫面湍流特征及其对深对流触发过程的影响。结果表明:干旱下垫面的混合层干而暖,厚度较大;湿润下垫面相反。由于地表感热通量对热力湍流形成的作用更大,干旱下垫面上湍流混合和夹卷作用更强,使得水汽和相当位温在边界层内分布更均一,而在边界层顶有较大的负扰动;干旱下垫面上对流强度较湿润下垫面大,但均表现为泡状对流,水平方向上呈网状结构。不同下垫面上深对流的发生与大气初始状况有关,当初始时刻1—3 km的逆温强度较弱时(0.15 K/(100 m)),边界层内湍流迅速发展,深对流首先在干旱下垫面发生,但因对流有效位能较小,云层厚度小于湿润下垫面。当1—3 km的逆温强度增加到0.55 K/(100 m)时,云层形成时间较晚,云层厚度明显减小,仅当边界层顶的比湿较大时,有深对流发生,但仍首先发生在干旱下垫面,考虑贯穿对流在边界层顶引起的较强冷却作用,云层厚度大于湿润下垫面。 相似文献

We examine the dynamics of turbulence subgrid (or sub-filter) scales over a lake surface and the implications for large-eddy
simulations (LES) of the atmospheric boundary layer. The analysis is based on measurements obtained during the Lake-Atmosphere
Turbulent EXchange (LATEX) field campaign (August–October, 2006) over Lake Geneva, Switzerland. Wind velocity, temperature
and humidity profiles were measured at 20 Hz using a vertical array of four sonic anemometers and open-path gas analyzers.
The results indicate that the observed subgrid-scale statistics are very similar to those observed over land surfaces, suggesting
that the effect of the lake waves on surface-layer turbulence during LATEX is small. The measurements allowed, for the first
time, the study of subgrid-scale turbulent transport of water vapour, which is found to be well correlated with the transport
of heat, suggesting that the subgrid-scale modelling of the two scalars may be coupled to save computational resources during

The Mellor–Yamada–Nakanishi–Niino (MYNN) planetary boundary-layer (PBL) scheme is a second-order turbulence closure model that is an improved version of the Mellor–Yamada scheme based on large-eddy simulation data. It simulates PBL structure and evolution well, particularly over the ocean surface. However, when used with various underlying surfaces in China, the scheme overestimates the turbulent momentum flux and the sensible heat flux. Based on observations of surface fluxes in China, we attempt to improve the MYNN model by modifying the parameters and representation of the turbulence scale. Closure constants and empirical expressions in the diagnostic equation are chosen first, and an additional component of the turbulent heat flux is considered in the potential temperature prognostic equation to improve the surface heat-flux modelling. The modified MYNN scheme is incorporated into a three-dimensional mesoscale model and is evaluated using various underlying surface observations. Amelioration of the surface turbulent fluxes is confirmed at five observational sites in China over different land-use types. 相似文献

Based on the basic principles of atmospheric boundary layer and plant canopy micrometeorology, a forest underlying surface land surface physical process model and a two-dimensional atmospheric boundary layer numerical model are developed and numerical simulation experiments of biosphere and physiological processes of vegetation and soil volumetric water content have been done on land surface processes with local climate effect. The numerical simulation results are in good agreement with realistic observations, which can be used to obtain reasonable simulations for diurnal variations of canopy temperature, air temperature in canopy, ground surface temperature, and temporal and spatial distributions of potential temperature and vertical wind velocity as well as relative humidity and turbulence exchange coefficient over non-homogeneous underlying surfaces. It indicates that the model developed can be used to study the interaction between land surface process and atmospheric boundary layer over various underlying surfaces and can be extended to local climate studies. This work will settle a solid foundation for coupling climate models with the biosphere. 相似文献

Built terrains, with their complexity in morphology, high heterogeneity, and anthropogenic impact, impose substantial challenges in Earth-system modelling. In particular, estimation of the source areas and footprints of atmospheric measurements in cities requires realistic representation of the landscape characteristics and flow physics in urban areas, but has hitherto been heavily reliant on large-eddy simulations. In this study, we developed physical parametrization schemes for estimating urban footprints based on the backward-Lagrangian-stochastic algorithm, with the built environment represented by street canyons. The vertical profile of mean streamwise velocity is parametrized for the urban canopy and boundary layer. Flux footprints estimated by the proposed model show reasonable agreement with analytical predictions over flat surfaces without roughness elements, and with experimental observations over sparse plant canopies. Furthermore, comparisons of canyon flow and turbulence profiles and the subsequent footprints were made between the proposed model and large-eddy simulation data. The results suggest that the parametrized canyon wind and turbulence statistics, based on the simple similarity theory used, need to be further improved to yield more realistic urban footprint modelling. 相似文献
