Experimental predictions with a hybrid coupled ocean-atmosphere model(L9R15 AGCM-ZCocean model)were performed for the 1986/87 El Nino event and the 1988/89 La Nina event withand without the Tibetan Plateau respectively(called TP FORC and NTP FORC hereinafter).Comparison shows that,to some extent,the existence of the Tibetan Plateau orography weakensor restrains(strengthens or facilitates)the formation of the anomalous circulation of Asianmonsoon during El Nino(La Nina)period.Opposite results are found in the uncoupled AGCMsimulation.  相似文献

A hybrid coupled ocean-atmosphere model is designed,which consists of a global atmosphericgeneral circulation model(L9R15 AGCM)and a simple ocean model(ZC ocean model over tropicalPacific).Using the model,experimental predictions are performed for the 1986/87 El Nino eventand the 1988/89 La Nina event with and without the Tibetan Plateau respectively(called TPFORC and NTP FORC hereinafter).It is found as follows:(1)The coupled system cansuccessfully predict the El Nino or La Nina event even if the Tibetan Plateau orography is notincluded in the model.The patterns of SSTA and wind anomalies in the model without the TibetanPlateau are similar to those with the Tibetan Plateau,which further verifies the fact that ENSOprocess is mainly caused by the air-sea interaction in tropical Pacific.(2)However.the existenceof the Tibetan Plateau exerts its influences on the intensity and duration of El Nino(or La Nina).It is unfavorable to the development and maintenance of westerly anomalies,so to some extent,restrains the development of El Nino,but favors the development of La Nina.(3)Effects of theTibetan Plateau orography on the wind anomalies in the coupled system are different from those inuncoupled AGCM simulation.  相似文献

分析了赤道地区纬向风的年际变化特征,以及亚澳季风与ENSO在各个位相的联系。结果表明:赤道纬向风变化与中东太平洋海温变化在准四年周期上是强烈耦合的;在El Eino期间东亚冬季风弱,夏季风强,而南亚夏季风弱,反之,在La Nina期间东亚冬季风强,夏季风弱,而南亚夏季风强;东亚地区的异常北风有利于西太平洋西风异常爆发,使得东太平洋海温升高,但只有随后在中东太平洋出现持续性西风异常,El Nino才能发展,其中来自太平洋中部的异常北风(并不是来自东亚大陆地区)和南太平洋中部的异常南风的辐合对中东太平洋出现持续性西风异常起重要的作用,尤其是澳大利亚东北部的季风异常的影响更为显。  相似文献

By prescribing sea surface temperature anomalies(SSTAs)over eastern equatorial Pacific inJanuary—March,the lag influence of ENSO(El Nino and La Nina)on monsoon over East Asiahas been studied.The results suggest that,due to the excitation of atmospheric low-frequencyoscillation by the SSTA,ENSO has significant lag influence on the monsoon over East Asia.During the summer after E1 Nino,the subtropical high over western Pacific is intensified andshows the northward and westward displacement,meanwhile,the rainfall over East China isbelow normal,especially in North China:during the winter after E1 Nino,both the Asian troughand the winter monsoon over East Asia are strengthened.During the summer after La Nina,theanomalous subtropical high prevails over the lower reaches of Yangtze(Changjiang)River,therainfall between Yangtze and Huaihe Rivers is below normal:during the winter after La Nina,both the Asian trough and the winter monsoon over East Asia are weaker.Compared with LaNina,the effect of El Nino is stronger,but it is not always opposite to the one of La Nina.  相似文献

根据1951-2010年川西高原区7个气象站降水资料和气温资料以及60 a间发生的厄尔尼诺(El Ni?o)/拉尼娜(La Ni?a)事件,分析降水量、气温与El Ni?o /La Ni?a事件之间的关系,研究El Ni?o/La Ni?a事件对川西高原区气候的影响。结果表明:1951年以来川西高原区年降水量变化不大,呈现微弱的增加趋势,El Ni?o/La Ni?a 事件的发生对川西高原区年平均降水量有影响,El Ni?o事件影响下的年平均降水量减少,La Ni?a事件影响下的年平均降水量增加;El Ni?o年降水量低于正常年降水量39.14 mm,拉尼娜年降水量高于正常年降水量22.56 mm。1951年以来川西高原区年平均气温呈现微弱的波动上升趋势,川西高原区年平均气温与ENSO事件等级之间的相关性不显著。  相似文献

通过合成分析指出包括雅藏布江中西段在内的西藏高原中西部地区夏季(6-8月)降水在ENSO的不同位相期间存在着显著的差异。利用交叉谱和奇异值分解等方法,分析了高原夏季降水场与太平洋海温场在时间和空间上的联系,结果表明,ENSO的暖(冷)位相期,高原大部分地区夏季降水以偏少(多)为主。  相似文献

TBO的原因-异常东亚冬季风与ENSO循环的相互作用   总被引:21,自引:3,他引:21  
基于对 NCEP/ NCAR再分析资料以及其他资料(OLR,降水和气温等)的分析研究,结果表明东亚和西北太平洋地区的对流层环流和气候变化都有明显的准两年振荡(TBO)特征。同时,异常东亚冬季风可以影响次年夏季的大气环流和气候变化,特别是在东亚地区;而异常东亚冬季风和ENSO循环间又有明显相互作用:持续的强(弱)东亚冬季风通过海─气相互作用可以激发 El Ni o(La Ni a), El Ni o(La Ni a)反过来又可通过遥相关或遥响应而导致东亚冬季风偏弱(强)。强或弱的冬季风和ENSO循环是相互衔接在一起的,因此可以认为异常东亚冬季风与ENSO循环的相互作用是TBO对流层准两年振荡)的基本原因。  相似文献

Summary  In this paper, we first examine the relationship of El Nino and La Nina events with the westerly wind anomalies over the western Pacific warm pool. On this basis, the roles of the Asian and Australian winter monsoons in the formation and progress of the westerly wind anomalies are studied. Finally, we analyze the associations of the Asian and Australian winter monsoons, the westerly wind anomalies and the El Nino and La Nina alternations with the propagating anomalies of the Southern and Northern Oscillation. The results show that the westerly wind bursts are frequent over the Maritime Continent and western Pacific, only those which can further intensify and propagate eastward are accompanied by an El Nino event. It is identified that the establishment and eastward propagation of westerly wind bursts are related to enhanced East Asian and Australian winter monsoon, respectively. The activities of the East Asian and Australian winter monsoon, the variation of the Pacific westerly and trade winds and the alternate appearance of El Nino and La Nina events should be internally connected. The main agents of this relationship are the eastward propagation of alternate positive and negative height anomalies associated with the Southern and Northern Oscillation on a 3–5 year time scale over the south and north tropical Pacific. 根据1967-2016年揭阳市4个国家气象站(揭阳市区、揭西、普宁、惠来)的观测资料以及Nino3+4区的海温指数(ONI),分析了揭阳市降水量、暴雨日数与厄尔尼诺/拉尼娜事件的关系。结果表明,50a来揭阳市的年降水量呈现出年际和年代际波动起伏的特点。在厄尔尼诺/拉尼娜事件发生时,揭阳春季降水主要表现为偏多/偏少,秋季降水主要表现为偏少/偏多,秋季暴雨日数主要表现为偏少或偏多;冬季暴雨只出现在厄尔尼诺事件或拉尼娜事件发生的年份。  相似文献

The interannual variability of the Atlantic tropical cyclone(TC)frequency is well known.Separately,recent studies have also suggested that a much longer,multidecadal(40-60 year)trend might be emerging from the recent increase in Atlantic TC activity.However,the overall structure of the intrinsic frequencies(or temporal modes)of Atlantic TC activity is not yet known.The focus of this study is to systematically analyze the intrinsic frequencies of Atlantic TC activity using hurricane and tropical storm landfall data collected along the southeast coast(SEC)of the United States.Based on an Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) analysis of the frequency of landfall TCs along the SEC from 188701999,we have found that Atlantic TC activity has four primary,temporal modes.The interannual and multidecadal modes reported in the published literature are two such modes.After identifying all primary modes,the relative importance of each mode and its physical cause can be analyzed.For example,the most energetic mode is the interannual mode(2-7 year period).This mode is known to be associated with the 2-7 year El Nino/La Nino cycle.The average number of annual landfalling TCs along the SEC decreased by 24% during El Nino years,but did not show significant increase during weak and moderate La Nina years.However,intense La Nina years were generally associated with more than average landfalling TCs along the SEC.The effects of El Nino and La Nina also became more significant when only hurricanes were considered.The significance of the effects of El Nino and La Nina on landfalling TCs and hurricanes in different US southeast coastal states showed significant differences.  相似文献

Summary  The fluctuations of intensity of the Tropical Easterly Jet (TEJ) and its association with the Indian summer monsoon rainfall have been examined using the diagnostics from NCEP/NCAR (National Centre for Environmental Prediction/National Centre for Atmospheric Research) reanalyses project for the period 1986 to 1994. The intensity of TEJ is found to be well correlated with India summer monsoon rainfall. The TEJ is weaker/stronger during the El Ni?o/La Ni?a year of 1987/1988 and is associated with deficient (excess) summer monsoon rainfall over India. A numerical study was carried out for the same period using the Centre for Ocean-Land-Atmosphere studies General Circulation Model (COLA GCM, T30L18) with observed Sea-Surface Temperature (SST). The GCM simulates the TEJ with reasonable accuracy. The strong interannual variability of TEJ during the El Ni?o/La Ni?a years of 1987/1988 are well simulated in the GCM. Like observations, the intensity of the TEJ is positively correlated with the summer monsoon rainfall over India in the model simulation. The intensity of Tibetan anticyclone and diabatic heating over the Tibetan Plateau diminished during the El Ni?o-year of 1987. The divergence centre in the upper troposphere associated with Asian monsoon becomes weaker and shifts eastward during the weak monsoon season of 1987. However, the opposite happens for the strong monsoon season of 1988. Also the middle and upper tropospheric meridional temperature gradient between the Tibetan High and Indian Ocean region decreased (increased) during the weak(strong) monsoon season of 1987 (1988). 青藏高原是我国的水塔,西风与季风及其相互作用是导致亚洲天气和气候变化最重要的环流系统。本文基于1981~2020年大气再分析资料,采用经验正交函数分解方法(Empirical Orthogonal Function,EOF)提取了西风与季风季节循环分量在青藏高原的耦合模态,并对其季节变化特征进行分析。研究发现,第一主模态方差贡献率高达78.39%,主要反映的是东亚季风、南亚季风和对流层高层中纬度西风的季节循环特征及各个季节的年际变化特征。夏季在对流层高层高原及其南侧主要为东风气流,范围从北纬5°至35°,对流层低层则表现为典型的绕高原气旋式季风环流系统,热带和副热带地区为西南季风控制,冬季的环流结构刚好相反。耦合模态的冬、夏季节转换节点与东亚季风和南亚季风的季节转换时间基本一致。从年际变化的角度来看,各个季节耦合模态的强度偏强时,东亚季风和南亚季风均偏强,西风带位置偏北;反之,季风偏弱,西风带位置偏南。厄尔尼诺—南方涛动(El Ni?o–Southern Oscillation,ENSO)是影响西风与季风耦合模态年际变化的关键外强迫,拉尼娜(La Ni?a)事件发生的前夏、前秋和次年夏季耦合模态的强度均增强,冬季至次年春季耦合模态的强度均减弱。西风与季风耦合的第二主模态主要表现为对流层高层高原上的东风及其南侧西风,以及低层南亚季风区的西南季风和西北太平洋反气旋的协同变化特征。该模态的方差贡献率为4.68%,表现出明显年际差异的同时还呈现显著减弱的长期趋势,尤其是在冬季。  相似文献

利用NCEP再分析资料,通过统计相关及合成分析研究了热带大气季节内振荡(ISO)的年际变化与ENSO循环之间的关系.结果表明,热带大气季节内振荡(也称30~60天低频振荡)的年际变化在热带中西太平洋地区最强.在ElNino成熟之前的春夏季,热带西太平洋的30~60天振荡异常活跃,其动能明显增加且逐渐东移;在E1Nino成熟以后,热带西太平洋大气30~60天低频振荡迅速减弱.与这种加强的30~60天振荡相伴随,在赤道北侧为异常的气旋式环流,赤道地区出现偏西风异常.相反,在LaNina成熟之前的春夏季,热带西太平洋大气30~60天振荡偏弱.进一步的分析还发现,东亚冬季风的年际变化是引起热带大气30~60天振荡的年际变化的主要机制:强东亚冬季风导致热带西太平洋积云对流加强,从而引起热带西太平洋大气30~60天振荡加强;相反,对应于弱的东亚冬季风,热带西太平洋地区积云对流偏弱,大气30~60天振荡偏弱.作者的资料分析还证实,热带大气30~60天低频振荡的年际变化,作为一种外强迫,对ElNino的形成起着十分重要的作用.  相似文献

通过对1955~1989年35年的观测资料的合成分析,进一步指出东亚冬季风与ElNino、LaNina事件存在着明显的相互作用、相互影响的循环关系.这种循环关系一方面表现在异常强(弱)东亚冬季风通过激发赤道中西太平洋地区的异常西(东)风以及强(弱)对流活动,而最终使得ElNino(LaNina)事件爆发;另一方面,ElNino(LaNina)的爆发将通过大气遥响应,使得东亚冬季风偏弱(强).功率谱分析也表明,东亚冬季风与ENSO循环相互作用主要表现在3~5年的周期上,同时准2年周期也很明显.    相似文献

将1~3月赤道东太平洋海表水温距平(SSTA)引入大气环流模式,模拟研究了ENSO(厄尔尼诺和拉尼娜)对其后东亚季风活动的影响。结果表明,由于SSTA在大气中强迫激发出了大气低频振荡,使得ENSO对其后的东亚季风活动仍有明显影响。厄尔尼诺之后的夏季,西太平洋副热带高压偏强偏北且西伸明显,中国东部降水偏少,尤其是华北地区;厄尔尼诺之后的冬季,东亚大槽偏深,冬季风偏强。拉尼娜之后的夏季,中国长江下游为异常副热带高压单体控制,江淮流域雨量偏少;拉尼娜之后的冬季,东亚大槽偏弱,东亚冬季风偏弱。厄尔尼诺的影响比拉尼娜的影响略强,两者的影响并非完全反相。  相似文献

利用ERA-40再分析资料和数值模拟,分析了在亚洲-太平洋区域的大气遥相关以及与亚洲季风降水和西北太平洋热带气旋活动气候特征的关系,探讨了青藏高原加热和太平洋海表温度(SST)对遥相关的影响,结果表明:亚洲-太平洋涛动(Asian-Pacific Oscillation,APO)是夏季对流层扰动温度在亚洲与太平洋中纬度之间的一种"跷跷板"现象,当亚洲大陆中纬度对流层偏冷时,中、东太平洋中纬度对流层偏暖,反之亦然;这种遥相关也出现在平流层中,只是其位相与对流层的相反.APO为研究亚洲与太平洋大气环流相互作用提供了一个途径.APO指数也是亚洲-太平洋对流层热力差异指数,它具有年际和年代际的多时间尺度变化特征,在1958-2001年亚洲与太平洋之间的对流层热力差异呈现出减弱趋势,同时也有显著的5.5 a周期.APO形成可能与太阳辐射在亚洲陆地和太平洋的加热差异所造成的纬向垂直环流有关,数值模拟进一步表明:夏季青藏高原加热可以造成高原附近对流层温度升高、上升运动加强,太平洋下沉运动加强、温度下降,从而形成APO现象;而太平洋年代际涛动和赤道东太平洋的厄尔尼若现象对APO的影响可能较小.当夏季APO异常时,南亚高压、欧亚中纬度西风急流、南亚热带东风急流以及太平洋上空的副热带高压都出现显著变化,并伴随着亚洲季风降水及西北太平洋热带气旋活动异常.过去40多年来的长江中上游地区夏季变冷与APO有关,可能是全球大气环流年代际变化在该区域的一种反映.APO异常信号可以传播到南、北两极.此外,亚洲-太平洋之间的这种遥相关型也出现在其他季节.  相似文献
