The hydrodynamic forces and moments that act on a towed fish are described and related to fundamental static and dynamic towing characteristics. It is shown that, when the fin height is reduced almost to the point giving neutral stability in pitch, the fish maintains almost constant pitch attitude while it is forced to heave or surge by ship motion transmitted down the cable.Wind tunnel tests provide the necessary hydrodynamic data for a computer simulation in two dimensions of the Bath Mk 3 sonar fish towed on faired cable. The results show that the magnitude of the pitch attitude variations of the fish can be greatly reduced by decreasing the fin size, with further reduction being possible by correctly locating the pointwhere the cable is attached to the fish. It is also shown that decreasing the fin size reduces the magnitude of the tension variations in the cable, thereby lowering the probability that the cable will go slack.These results generalise to a large class of towed systems using either or bare cable, and a formula is included by which the magnitude of the ship-inducing pitching motion of a fish can be estimated, given the necessary hydrodynamic data.Possible difficulties associated with towing a low stability fish are considered and a method is included for assessing the minimum stability likely to be necessary to achieved satisfactory towing behaviour.  相似文献

Digital computer simulation in two dimensions of a neutrally-stable fish towed on a faired cable has been used to investigate the response of the fish to disturbances in the ship motion. The numerical methods used are described broadly, excluding mathematical detail, and selected results are presented which indicate typical behaviour of the system.The free oscillations of the fish-cable system and its response to deterministic and random ship disturbances are investigated. This reveals the dynamic principles governing the motion and allows the formulation of simple rules to give a first approximation to the magnitude of the fish response. It is shown that, provided resonances of the ship and fish-cable system do not coincide, the overall amplitude of motion of the fish is proportional to the sine of the angle made by the top of the cable with the horizontal. Formulae are given for calculating approximately the resonant frequencies of the towed system.  相似文献

Under real sea conditions, the hydrodynamic performance of floating vertical-axis tidal current turbines is affected by waves and currents. The wave circular frequency is a significant factor in determining the frequencies of the wave-induced motion responses of turbines. In this study, the ANSYS-CFX software (manufacturer: ANSYS Inc., Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States) is used to analyse the hydrodynamic performance of a vertical-axis turbine for different yawing frequencies and to study how the yawing frequencies affect the main hydrodynamic coefficients of the turbine, including the power coefficient, thrust coefficient, lateral force coefficient, and yawing moment coefficient. The time-varying curves obtained from the CFX software are fitted using the least-squares method; the damping and added mass coefficients are then calculated to analyse the influence of different yawing frequencies. The simulation results demonstrate that when analysing non-yawing turbines rotating under constant inflow, the main hydrodynamic coefficient time-varying curves of yawing turbines exhibit an additional fluctuation. Furthermore, the amplitude is positively correlated with the yawing frequency, and the oscillation amplitudes also increase with increasing yawing frequency; however, the average values of the hydrodynamic coefficients (except the power coefficient) are only weakly influenced by yawing motion. The power coefficient under yawing motion is lower than that under non-yawing motion, which means that yawing motion will cause the annual energy production of a turbine to decrease. The fitting results show that the damping term and the added mass term exert effects of the same level on the loads and moments of vertical-axis turbines under yawing motion. The results of this study can facilitate the study of the motion response of floating vertical-axis tidal current turbine systems in waves.  相似文献

This paper has shown a numerical motion simulation method which can be employed to study on parametric rolling of ships in a seaway. The method takes account of the main nonlinear terms in the rolling equation which stabilize parametric rolling, including the nonlinear shape of the righting arm curve, nonlinear damping and cross coupling among all 6 degrees of freedom. For the heave, pitch, sway and yaw motions, the method uses response amplitude operators determined by means of the strip method, whereas the roll and surge motions of the ship are simulated, using nonlinear motion equations coupled with the other 4 degrees of freedom. For computing righting arms in seaways, Grim's effective wave concept is used. Using these transfer functions of effective wave together with the heave and pitch transfer functions, the mean ship immersion, its trim and the effective regular wave height are computed for every time step during the simulation. The righting arm is interpolated from tables, computed before starting the simulation, depending on these three quantities and the heel angle. The nonlinear damping moment and the effect of bilge keels are also taken into account. The numerical simulation tool has shown to be able to model the basic mechanism of parametric rolling motions. Some main characteristics of parametric rolling of ships in a seaway can be good reproduced by means of the method. Comprehensive parametric analyses on parametric rolling amplitude in regular waves have been carried out, with that the complicated parametric rolling phenomena can be understood better.  相似文献

The results of dynamic and steady-state cable simulations are used to show that a towed system can behave in either of two different ways on entering a turn. In a large radius turn the system maintains its straight-tow equilibrium configuration but in a slightly perturbed form. In a turn of small radius the system effectively collapses resulting in a large increase of fish depth and cable tension. A formula is included by which the approximate minimum radius of turn that does not precipitate collapse can be quickly calculated.Non-dimensional tables are presented giving details of the equilibrium configuration adopted by the cable when the ship maintains a circular course.Graphs are presented from which the time constants for the decay of lateral and longitudinal disturbances of 2-D cable profiles can be easily calculated. These can be used to estimate the time taken for a towed system to return to equilibrium following a manoeuvre.The derivation of the equations for the steady-state configurations and the time constants are included in appendices.  相似文献

波浪滑翔机直接利用波浪能实现大范围长距离的机动运动观测,在海洋环境观测中可以发挥重要的作用。本文对波浪滑翔机推进装置在启动阶段的翼片的水动力学行为进行了研究。以波浪滑翔机水下推进装置的翼片为研究对象,运用雷诺平均Navier-Stokes方程(RANS),对给定垂荡和摆动运动的翼片水动力学进行了水动力分析和仿真,模拟了单个翼片、纵向阵列多翼片的运动状况,得到推进装置翼片附近的压力分布和整体推进动力,分析翼片间距变化在启动阶段对推进力的影响作用。通过该研究工作为深入理解波浪滑翔机推进装置工作状态提供了理论依据。  相似文献

以蓝鳍金枪鱼为蓝本,进行了仿鱼尾推进小型水下航行器方案设计与模型制作,包括设计主体外形、主体结构及安装形式、传动机构、尾鳍形状等。在水池中开展了自航实验,测定了尾鳍的摆幅、频率、形状及刚度对航速的影响,结果表明在相同条件下提高尾鳍摆动频率或增大尾鳍摆幅,能提高水下航行器的速度;当采用柔性尾鳍时,航行器的速度明显增加。  相似文献

设计了一种拉线机构驱动的仿鱼型自主巡游机器人,阐述了其机械结构、电路系统及控制算法的设计方案,同时开展开敞水域试验对其游动性能进行研究。研究表明,在直行及转弯试验中,当摆尾频率相同时,随着尾鳍摆动幅度的增加,机器鱼的游动速度上升;当尾鳍摆动幅度相同时,随着摆尾频率的增加,机器鱼游动速度先升后降,且在0.60 Hz附近时达到峰值;在目标角度转向试验中,当摆尾频率及目标角度相同时,随着尾鳍摆动幅度的增加,机器鱼的角度响应时间逐渐减小;当尾鳍摆动幅度及目标角度相同时,随着摆尾频率的增加,角度响应时间先降后升;当摆尾频率及摆动幅度相同时,目标角度的增加会使得角度响应时间呈上升趋势。研究成果验证了该机器鱼平台的可靠性,为将来进一步理论研究及实际应用提供了一定的参考。  相似文献

鱼类能够在水下高速度、低噪音、高效率地游动。鱼类出色的推进性能通过其摆动尾鳍实现。这种摆动尾鳍推进方式已经用在了水下无人航行器上。因此研究摆动尾鳍的水动力性能是非常有意义的。对摆动尾鳍的推进水动力性能进行了详尽的研究。设计、装配了一套仿尾鳍推进系统,并对其进行了相应的水动力试验。在试验中研究了运动参数对摆动尾鳍水动力性能的影响。与此同时,采用基于雷诺平均N-S方程的数值方法对摆动尾鳍的水动力性能进行了研究。在数值计算中采用了k-ωSST湍流模型和有限体积法。数值计算结果和水动力试验结果进行了比较。对尾鳍表面的压力分布和流场中的尾涡结构进行了分析。水动力试验和数值计算都表明摆动尾鳍可以产生推进力和较高的推进效率。  相似文献

Fish are remarkable in their ability to maneuver and to control their body position. This ability is the result of the coordinated movement of fins which extend from the body and form control surfaces that can create and vector forces in 3-D. We have embarked on a research program designed to develop a maneuvering propulsor for unmanned undersea vehicles (UUVs) that is based on the pectoral fin of the bluegill sunfish. For this, the anatomy, kinematics, and hydrodynamics of the sunfish pectoral fin were investigated experimentally and through the use of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations. These studies identified that the kinematics of the sunfish pectoral fin are very complex and are not easily described by traditional ldquorowingrdquo- and ldquoflappingrdquo-type kinematics. A consequence of the complex motion is that the pectoral fin can produce forward thrust during both its outstroke (abduction) and instroke (adduction), and while doing so generates only small lateral and lift forces. The results of the biological studies were used to guide the design of robotic pectoral fins which were built as experimental devices and used to investigate the mechanisms of thrust production and control. Because of a design that was based heavily on the anatomy of the sunfish fin, the robotic pectoral fins had the level of control and degrees of freedom necessary to reproduce many of the complex fin motions used by the sunfish during steady swimming. These robotic fins are excellent experimental tools, and are an important first step towards developing propulsive devices that will give the next generation of UUVs the ability to produce and control thrust like highly maneuverable fish.  相似文献

In order to design submarine optical-fiber cable, it is very important to clarify the cable tension and fiber elongation during laying because the fiber elongation allowance is very small. When submarine cable is being laid from a cable ship, cable weight in water plus such additional tension as bottom tension caused by the negative slack and tension due to ship motion work upon the cable [1]. Cable tension changes during laying were theoretically studied. This paper quantitatively clarifies bottom tension dependence at the touchdown point caused by the negative slack upon both water depth and ship velocity. It is shown that the shallower the water depth is and the faster the ship velocity is, the larger the bottom tension is. The theoretical bottom tension showed good agreement with the experimental value measured during sea trials on laying submarine optical-fiber cable [2], [3]. This paper also describes the correlation between cable, ship motion, and cable tension vibration by examining experimental results. It quantitatively clarifies the tension vibration magnitude.  相似文献

采用集中质量法研究了绷紧式系泊系统中系缆由于松弛-张紧过程产生的冲击张力。建立系泊缆绳离散的集中质量模型,对其独立单元进行受力分析并建立了单元的运动方程。给定缆绳上端点简谐激励,通过Ansys中的Aqwa模块,分析了缆绳的运动响应;针对缆绳运动响应过程中的三种状态进行了模拟计算,探讨了冲击张力产生的条件;研究了缆绳初始预张力、上端点激励幅值和频率、拖曳力系数、弹性模量以及单位长度质量对动态张力的影响。研究结果表明:这些影响因素不仅会影响缆绳动态张力的大小,也会对缆绳中的冲击张力产生一定的影响。  相似文献

针对不规则波浪作用下Wigley型船的运动响应问题进行了系统的研究,采用统计学方法深入探讨了船舶不规则运动幅值和响应周期的分布规律,并通过傅里叶变换对船舶运动响应进行了频谱特征分析。结果表明,船舶横摇方向与升沉和纵摇方向随机运动的响应特征有显著差异。在升沉与纵摇方向,波浪谱峰频率远离自振频率,前十分之一大振幅运动对应周期离散性较小,基本稳定在波浪谱峰周期附近,但小振幅运动周期分布离散性较大,频谱分析指出船舶升沉与纵摇运动响应频谱在波浪谱峰频率附近出现明显峰值。而在横摇方向,波浪谱峰频率与自振频率相耦合,不同振幅的横摇运动响应周期均稳定在自振周期附近,且周期离散性较小,频谱分析也表明横摇运动响应频谱主要集中于船舶运动自振频率附近。  相似文献

A control scheme named the variable-lateral-force cavitator, which is focused on the control of lift force, drag force and lateral forces for underwater supercavity vehicles was proposed, and the supercavitating flow around the cavitator was investigated numerically using the mixture multiphase flow model. It is verified that the forces of pitching, yawing, drag and lift, as well as the supercavity size of the underwater vehicle can be effectively regulated through the movements of the control element of the variable-lateral-force cavitator in the radial and circumferential directions. In addition, if the control element on either side protrudes to a height of 5% of the diameter of the front cavitator, an amount of forces of pitching and yawing equivalent to 30% of the drag force will be produced, and the supercavity section appears concave inwards simultaneously. It is also found that both the drag force and lift force of the variable-lateral-force cavitator decline as the angle of attack increases.  相似文献

A stochastic model is reported for the rolling motion due to wind gusts having a non-uniform Poisson distribution and a constant amplitude.This paper is an improvement on a previous one where the external exciting term due to wind was au niform Poisson process.The statistics of the rolling motion amplitude process which is non-stationary are obtained and used for deriving a majorizing function for the probability of capsizing.The resulting inequality is used for a small cargo ship.  相似文献

网箱浮架是我国深水养殖的重要设施装备,其水动力特性直接关系其工作稳定性。文章针对3层桁架式海洋网箱浮架建立有限元模型,采用流固耦合方法对17级台风正面来流条件下的网箱浮架水动力特性展开模拟计算,并对比分析有无网衣时网箱浮架水动力特性的变化规律。结果表明:在台风正面来流的情况下,网箱浮架的饵料舱侧向支撑点、上层步道板连接管迎浪侧和中层承力结构交叉点是应力集中的主要区域;当浮架悬挂网衣结构时,其垂荡距离减小,但纵摇程度加剧,即网衣结构有利于浮架结构在垂直方向上的稳定,但增加其纵摇运动强度;当悬挂网衣结构时,由于浮架在垂直方向上更为稳定,其饵料舱侧向支撑点、上层步道板连接管迎浪侧的最大应力分别降低5.1%和3.2%,中层承力结构交叉点的最大应力变化不明显,而迎浪侧中下层连接管的最大应力降低8.7%。  相似文献

对三维潜标拖缆在规则波作用下的动力响应进行了研究,首先基于集中质量法给出了缆绳在规则波作用下的控制方程,然后提出了两种不同类型的自由端边界条件:质点型和艇型自由端边界条件,前者把拖体视为作三个自由度线运动的质点,而后者把拖体视为作六自由度运动的艇体,最后用有限差分法进行了数值研究。数值计算结果表明潜标拖缆在规则波的作用下,不仅作近似的简谐振动,还会在横向、垂向产生一个偏移量,该偏移量的大小随浪向角的变化而变化,另外受遭遇频率的影响,振动的幅值也随浪向角的变化而呈现不同的特征。  相似文献

Oceanographic instrumentation towed from a surface platform is normally subjected to unwanted vertical motion imparted by the rolling, heaving, and pitching of the platform. This motion can cause severe shock-loading conditions in the tow cable and induces unplanned depth variations that reduce the instruments' resolution. This article discusses a unique motion-compensation system for use with towed instrumentation that eliminates shock loading and minimizes depth variation. The system is operational in sea states as high as 5 and effectively decouples 96% of the vessel's motion.  相似文献
