Branchiura sowerbyi in the Donghu Lake (Wuhan, China) completes its life cycle in one year. Its production rates were 6.7 g m-8 yr-1 (wet weight) during the period from April 1962 to May 1963 and 8.6 g m-2 yr-1 during the period from August 1963 to August 1964. The standing stocks in corresponding periods were 1.9 g m-2 (wet weight) and 1.1 gm-2, and the P/B ratios were 3.6 and 7.8. Based on the standing stock during 1973-1975, an evaluation of recent productin levels of B. sowerbyi in Donghu Lake has also been made (i.e. 5.7-33.5 g m-2 yr-1). 相似文献

1 INTRODUCTION The first published records of genus Batra-chospermum Roth in China are from Jao (1941), when eleven taxa were reported. This paper reports the concentrations of 137 Cs, hexachlorocyclohexane(HCH), dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethanes(DDT) and its main degradation products, δ13C, and organic carbon in pond sediments(0-210 cm, sectioned by 2-20 cm interval) and surface soils(the 0-3 cm horizon) collected in 2010 from Chenjia catchment, which is located in Yanting county in the hilly central Sichuan of China. α-, δ-, and γ-HCH, DDT, and DDD were not detected throughout the sediment profile. Trace concentrations of δ-HCH(0.89-29.31 ng g-1) and p,p′-DDE(1.85-6.02 ng g-1) were detected only in top 40 cm sediment. The 137 Cs fallout peak in 1963(corresponding to the 55-60 cm depth), the sedimentary signature left by the last year of HCH use in 1989(an additional indicator at 20-25 cm), and the obvious original channel bed prior to the construction of the pond in 1956 were used as temporal markers to estimate changes in average sedimentation rate between different periods due to changes in land use. Continuous, marked decrease in average sedimentation rate(i.e., 3.79, 1.35 and 1.07 cm year-1 in 1956-1963, 1963-1989, and 1989-2010, respectively)over time was observed, probably due to the reforestation, abandoning of steep sloping farmland for afforestation and natural re-vegetation(implementation of the Grain for Green Program), and the conversion of part of gently sloping farmland terraces to orchard land since the 1980 s, especially since the 1990 s. This was corroborated by the observed decrease(more negative) in δ13C of sediment towards the surface, which indicates increased relative contribution of eroded soil particles coming from slopes with increased tree cover in sediment source area. Combined use of 137 Cs, δ-HCH, and δ13C record in sediments has been demonstrated to be a powerful approach to reconstruction of response in sedimentation rate to historical land use changes. 相似文献

Species, Thracia granubsa of the Family Thraciidae from the China Seas was first reported and described as new to science by Adams et Reeve (1850) . Commercial linear alkylbenzene sulfonate (LAS), mixture of alkylchain lengths and phenyl position isomers (C10-C13), is widely used as a major constituent of household and industrial detergents in the People's Republic of China. Degradation process and behaviour of LAS compounds during an 82-hour lake water die-away study, with an added LAS concentration of 1. 5mg .L-1, was quantified and accomplished by HPLO-UV after extractionon the SepPek C18 reversed - phase cartridges. The degradation rate became progressively faster with increasing chain length. The technique described in this study is fast, sensitive and specific, and can be used to determine low levels, of LAS and for establishing water quality criteria and standards relating to LAS and its compounds. 相似文献

Surface ornamentations of the cell walls of 24 desmid species varieties and forms belonging to 7 genera were studied under a scanning electron microscope (SEM). Among these desmids, 1 species and 1 variety are new to science, 13 species, varieties and forms are recorded in China for the first time. These desmids are subdivided into homogeneous and heterogeneous types based on the characteristic ornamentations on their cell walls. A unique ornamentation pattern, the centre of each scrobiculation with a small punctum regularly arranged on the cell wall, and very fine puncta scattered on the cell wall can only be revealed under high SEM magnification. 相似文献
