Summary. A conducting slab of finite thickness divided into three segments of different conductivities and overlying a perfect conductor is proposed as a suitable two-dimensional 'control' model for testing the accuracy of the various numerical modelling programs that are available for calculating the fields induced in the Earth by an external, time-varying magnetic source. An analytic solution is obtained for this control model for the case of the magnetic field everywhere parallel to the conductivity boundaries ( B -polarization). Values of the field given by this solution for a particular set of model parameters are calculated at selected points on the surface and on a horizontal plane inside the conductor, and are tabulated to three figure accuracy for reference. They are used to check the accuracy of the results given by the finite difference program of Brewitt-Taylor & Weaver and the finite element program of Kisak & Silvester for the same model. Improved formulae for calculating the derived electric field components in B -polarization are first developed for incorporation in the finite difference program, and these give surface electric fields within 1 per cent of the analytic values, while all three field components inside the conductor are calculated to better than 96 per cent accuracy by the finite difference program. The results given by the finite element program are not quite so satisfactory. Errors somewhat greater than 10 per cent are present and although the program requires much less disk space it takes rather more CPU time to complete the calculations.  相似文献

Eight sets of coastal acoustic tomography (CAT) systems were deployed during November 29 to December 10, 2002 at the coasts on both sides of Tokyo Bay to measure tidal current structures at 15-rain interval.Sound transmission across the Tokyo Bay (between Yokohama and Chiba)was successfillly traced,even under severe interference from ship generated wakes and bubbles.Tidal current fields changing from northward to southward flow are well reconstructed by the inverse analysis of travel-time difference data for a period with the best sound transmission condition. It is suggested that the CAT is the most powerful tool to continuously map tidal current fields in the coastal seas with heavy shipping traffic and fisheries activity.  相似文献

In this study, change in rainfall, temperature and river discharge are analysed over the last three decades in Central Vietnam. Trends and rainfall indices are evaluated using non‐parametric tests at different temporal levels. To overcome the sparse locally available network, the high resolution APHRODITE gridded dataset is used in addition to the existing rain gauges. Finally, existing linkages between discharge changes and trends in rainfall and temperature are explored. Results are indicative of an intensification of rainfall (+15%/decade), with more extreme and longer events. A significant increase in winter rainfall and a decrease in consecutive dry days provides strong evidence for a lengthening wet season in Central Vietnam. In addition, trends based on APHRODITE suggest a strong orographic signal in winter and annual trends. These results underline the local variability in the impacts of climatic change at the global scale. Consequently, it is important that change detection investigations are conducted at the local scale. A very weak signal is detected in the trend of minimum temperature (+0.2°C/decade). River discharge trends show an increase in mean discharge (31 to 35%/decade) over the last decades. Between 54 and 74% of this increase is explained by the increase in precipitation. The maximum discharge also responds significantly to precipitation changes leading to a lengthened wet season and an increase in extreme rainfall events. Such trends can be linked with a likely increase in floods in Central Vietnam, which is important for future adaptation planning and management and flood preparedness in the region. The presence of microplastics in aquatic ecosystems is of increasing global concern.Nano-sized plastics,in particular,can penetrate the cell membrane and cause biological death.Our study evaluated the combined impacts of several polystyrene mi-crospheres’sizes and nominal concentrations on the overall performance changes of Brachionus plicatilis.Experimental animals were exposed to three microplastic sizes(0.08,0.5 and 6μm)and five nominal concentrations(0,0.5,2,8,32μg mL?1)for 20 d.Our results showed that the toxicological effect of particle size on rotifers did not significantly depend on the nominal concentration.The interaction between the nominal concentration and size occurred only for body length and lorica width.Specifically,high nominal concentrations of microplastics that were close to nanometer size significantly impaired the overall vitality of rotifers,embodied in shortage of body type,delay in the arrival of maturity,reduction in the cumulative number of neonates,and the advance of the death process.In comparison,fair-sized size(0.5 and 6μm)displayed non-significant damage except for individual groups.Most notably,the net reproductive yield was only a third of what it was in the original environment,implying that there was not much fertility left.Besides,with the development of rotifers,the adverse effects of polystyrene microsphere drive had become more and more serious.  相似文献

研究地球化学元素在地球化学场中的空间最大变异距离、空间聚集以及空间异常分布情况。通过稳健半变差函数确定空间最大变异距离,在最大变异距离内分别对在不同的距离、原始数据和经过Box-Cox变换的数据使用局部空间自相关Moran′s Ii指数研究元素含量的空间聚集和空间异常,与基于C-A多重分形法的异常下限确定方法所圈定的异常范围进行对比。以面积为8 130km2的铜矿区所采集的1∶20万水系沉积物1 341个组合样点的Cu元素含量为例,局部Moran′s Ii能很好地划分空间聚集和空间异常,尤其是针对经过变换的数据能探测出比C-A法范围更大的聚集和异常,符合客观实际,与已知矿床(点)吻合很好。  相似文献

In this study, historical landscape dynamics were investigated to (i) map the land use/cover types for the years 1972, 1987, 2000 and 2014; (ii) determine the types and processes of landscape dynamics; and (iii) assess the landscape fragmentation and habitat loss over time. Supervised classification of multi-temporal Landsat images was used through a pixel-based approach. Post–classification methods included systematic and random change detection, trajectories analysis and landscape fragmentation assessment. The overall accuracies (and Kappa statistics) were of 68.86% (0.63), 91.32% (0.79), 90.66% (0.88) and 91.88% (0.89) for 1972, 1987, 2000 and 2014, respectively. The spatio-temporal analyses indicated that forests, woodlands and savannahs dominated the landscapes during the four dates, though constant areal decreases were observed. The most important dynamic process was the decline of woodlands with an average annual net loss rate of–2%. Meanwhile, the most important land transformation occurred during the transition 2000–2014, due to anthropogenic pressures. Though the most important loss of vegetation greenness occurred in the unprotected areas, the overall analyses of change indicated a declining trend of land cover quality and an increasing landscape fragmentation. Sustainable conservation strategies should be promoted while focusing restoration attention on degraded lands and fragmented ecosystems in order to support rural livelihood and biodiversity conservation.  相似文献
