Data collected in 1953 and 1954 by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service were statistically analyzed to ascertain where and when fish eggs and larvae are most abundant on the southeastern U.S. continental shelf. The results are related to some oceanographic processes that might affect the survival of larval fish. Along-shelf differences in numbers of eggs and larvae are minimal compared with differences that occur across the shelf. Highest numbers of fish larvae are found on the outer shelf during fall, winter and spring, but larvae are evenly distributed across the shelf in summer.Upwelling strongly influences the dynamics of plankton production on the outer shelf, and thus during most seasons of the year upwelling may be the most important process controlling the amount of food available to larval fish. During winter and spring, mean winds do not favor shoreward transport of larval fish from the outer shelf if the larvae are located in near-surface waters. Thus, during these seasons variability of winds on the ‘event’ time scale may be more important to onshore and offshore transport of larval fish than the mean strength and direction of monthly or seasonally averaged winds.  相似文献

南海ODP1148站分析结果显示,井深475-600m的硅质化石主要表现为蛋白石-CT。随着深度增加,硅质化石破壳率增大,蛋白石-CT的X射线衍射峰强度减弱,自生石英的衍射峰则相应增强,反应了蛋白石-CT向石英的转变,井深620m附近,硅质化石完全溶解,蛋白石-CT衍射峰消失,蛋白石-CT全部转变为石英,样品取心率从470m处的近100%降到485m处的8%,可能是硅质成岩作用,尤其是蛋白石-A向蛋白石-CT的转变影响所致,而取心率的降低,则是此井未能观察到蛋白石-A/蛋白石-CT转变界线的部分原因。  相似文献

The use of dissolved organic matter fluorescence as a tracer of river-sea mixing was examined in two South Carolina estuaries. Fluorescence declined linearly with seawater dilution in laboratory mixing studies, and also behaved conservatively in an estuary where a single river emptied into a bay. Fluorescence-salinity relationships were also studied in another estuary where a piedmont river (high suspended sediment, low fluorescence) and a coastal plains river (low sediment, high fluorescence) mixed with ocean water. The factor of 2 or greater difference in fluorescence between the two rivers allowed their relative contribution to the estuarine water mass to be distinguished. Petroleum hydrocarbons, measured in estuarine water at 0·7-1·8 μg l−1 concentrations, contributed negligibly to water fluorescence.  相似文献

The elements Al, Cd, Co, Cu, Ni and Zn were concentrated from seawater using tetraethylenepentamine resin and analysed by atomic absorption spectrophotometry. The purpose of the present study was to elucidate in vitro effects of Hg2+, Zn2+, Ni2+ and Cd2+ on cytochrome P4501A1 (CYP1A1) dependent EROD activities in leaping mullet liver microsomes. Fish captured from the most polluted part of Izmir Bay, had highly elevated EROD activities, and induced CYP1A1 protein levels as determined by Western blotting. Although all of the metal ions caused inhibition of the initial velocity of the reaction, Hg2+ and Cd2+ exhibited much higher inhibitory effect at lower concentrations and they were evidently more potent inhibitors than others. The inhibitor concentration giving 50% inhibition (IC50 values) of Zn2+, Ni2+, Cd2+ and Hg2+ of initial EROD activity were 107, 16, 1.3 and 0.15 micromolar, respectively. Glutathione (GSH) at 0.5 mM final concentration, completely reversed Ni2+ and Cd2+ inhibition of EROD activity indicating the protective action of GSH.  相似文献

基于8-羟基喹啉金属螯合物在C_(18)键合硅胶上的吸附原理,在海水样品中加入少量8-羟基喹啉溶液,建立在线C_(18)键合硅胶柱富集,甲醇洗脱,洗脱液直接进入火焰的流动注射-火焰原子吸收光谱系统(FIA-FAAS)测定海水中痕量Cu,Ni,Cd和Zn的方法。富集倍数达80,进样频率为每小时30次。对Cu Ni,Cd和Zn测定的特征浓度分别为0.30,0.26,0.12和0.07μg/L;检出限(2σ)分别为0.07,0.05,0.02和0.01μg/L;相对标准偏差分别为2.7,2.1,2.8和2.5%;回收率分别为102,98,96和102%。本法快速简便,污染少,灵敏度高。  相似文献

本文研究了西瓦湖内外各环境介质 ,包括表层水体、悬浮物、间隙水和沉积物中的壬基酚和双酚 A的浓度分布。结果表明 ,湖内上述介质中的壬基酚浓度分别为 1 7.4~ 1 1 3.4 ng/ L ,1 5 .6~ 2 8.6 ng/ L,2 4 0~ 3890 ng/ L和 5 .6~ 1 6 2 9ng/ g,西瓦湖外的壬基酚浓度则相对较低。表层水体与其他介质中的壬基酚浓度之间存在显著性相关关系。双酚 A的分布特征与壬基酚相似 ,但前者的浓度较低 ,在上述介质中的浓度分别为 1 3.0~ 5 0 .4 ng/ L,3.2~ 8.5 ng/ L,85~ 2 80 ng/ L和 1 .3~1 1 .2 ng/ g。本文还讨论了西瓦湖中的壬基酚和双酚 A污染对当地生物的潜在危害  相似文献

Aerosol optical depth(AOD) is the most basic parameter that describes the optical properties of atmospheric aerosols,and it can be used to indicate aerosol content. In this study, we assimilated AOD data from the Fengyun-3 A(FY-3 A) and MODIS meteorological satellite using the Gridpoint Statistical Interpolation three-dimensional variational data assimilation system. Experiments were conducted for a dust storm over East Asia in April 2011. Each 0600 UTC analysis initialized a24-h Weather Research and Forecasting with Chemistry model forecast. The results generally showed that the assimilation of satellite AOD observational data can significantly improve model aerosol mass prediction skills. The AOD distribution of the analysis field was closer to the observations of the satellite after assimilation of satellite AOD data. In addition, the analysis resulting from the experiment assimilating both FY-3 A/MERSI(Medium-resolution Spectral Imager) AOD data and MODIS AOD data had closer agreement with the ground-based values than the individual assimilation of the two datasets for the dust storm over East Asia. These results suggest that the Chinese FY-3 A satellite aerosol products can be effectively applied to numerical models and dust weather analysis.  相似文献
