Late Pleistocene glaciation was restricted to only a few high mountains in eastern China. The Gongwang mountains constitute one of the typical places once glaciated. Geomorphic mapping of the area and the TL dating provides evidence for at least four distinct glaciations. YJT-I glacial advance occurred about 100 ka BP and two TL absolute ages (101,100 ±7780 a BP; 104,000±8300 a BP) indicate this advance happened during the Penultimale Glaciation. The early stage glacial advance (YJT-II advance) during the last glaciation occurred about 40,920±3400 a BP. The last glacial maximum advance (YJT-III advance) about 18-25 ka BP, which sustained by two TL ages (18,230 ±1420 a BP; 25,420 ±2110 a BP). The Penultimale and the early stage glaciations were more extensive and the last glacial maximum (LGM) and the late-glacial period (YJT-IV advance, 10 ka BP) were progressively less extensive. Correlated with the other mountains in eastern China, these glacial advances in the Gongwang mountains just like the advances in the western part such as Diancang mountains, Yulong mountains of Yunnan Province and the glacier series are more complete than the adjacent mid-latitude regions such as Taibai mountain and Taiwan mountains and are roughly representative of climate changes during the last glacial cycle in Yunnan Province.  相似文献

This work considers the spatial distribution and ages of western MOZ basin siliclastic sediments prior to providing insights into the diagenesis of degraded dune and alluvial fan sands. Previously published and new TL/OSL ages imply that extensive over-washing of dune sands took place at least 100 ka ago while ages on Okavango floodplains imply that the fan was formed ca. 40 ka and has since undergone periods of higher and lower flood regimes. Sediment analyses indicate that both dune and fan sands contain a diagenetic matrix of clay-enhanced amorphous silica (CEAS) which bonds weakly formed aggregates. The time of formation of diagenetic matrix products is inconclusive but may have been accelerated during or shortly after events dated using OSL/TL techniques. Hence earlier dune over-washing may have led to greater porewater of an acidic to near neutral nature which in turn promoted smectite formation and silicic acid precipitation > 100 000 years ago. The relatively abundant CEAS matrix in floodplain sands implies more recent semi-continuous flood events again of an acidic-near neutral nature leading to the formation of smectite. In this case the floodplain sediments are dated as having been deposited around 40 and 11 ka, when porewater content may have accelerated clay formation and silica dissolution. The dual nature of the CEAS in the islands reflects a changing environment from smectite-dominated flooding events to sepiolite-dominated desiccation events. Flooding may also correspond to TL/OSL ages over the past 40 000 years which contributed to accelerated CEAS formation. The sepiolite is associated with a Ca-rich matrix implying desiccation which may relate to drying events over the 40 000 year period or to riparian tree root pumping and selective salt accumulation. This work shows that sedimentation in incipient rifts is complex and rarely explained totally in terms of primary depositional events. The implications of different stages of sand diagenesis may be significant in enhancing palaeo-environmental interpretations in semi-arid fluvial environments.  相似文献

三峡库区的长江阶地是研究川江、峡江水系演变的重要证据。发育冲积物的阶地主要出现在库区西半部的川东和重庆的中低山、丘陵区,最多有6级。阶地研究中遇到的主要问题是难以确定阶地的形成时代。我们采用TL法和ESR法测量了三峡库区6个地点阶地的堆积年龄。测量数据显示,ESR法基本不适合测定三峡库区冲积物的年龄;尽管TL法本身存在缺陷,但测得的T1~T4的堆积年龄得到其他独立的测年结果的支持。阶地T1~T4的TL年龄依次为7~17 ka、28~46 ka、62~81 ka和103~105 ka。此外,根据年代地层对比的方法以及前人的古地磁测量结果,推测三峡库区第四级阶地的年龄大于101 ka,第五级阶地的年龄大于392 ka,而第六级阶地的年龄小于780 ka。从而初步建立了三峡库区阶地堆积的时间序列。  相似文献

地貌年代是地貌学研究的重要内容,红石峡谷作为云台山世界地质公园重要的地貌景观与地质遗迹资源,其形成年代的研究具有重要科学意义。本文对红石峡谷地貌特征进行了详细野外调查及研究,通过地貌对比及释光法测年对红石峡谷的形成年代、新构造运动对峡谷的控制作用进行了探讨。红石峡谷具有年轻河谷的地貌特征:平面展布明显受构造节理控制、横剖面呈现V型、纵剖面为上凸形;用热释光法(TL)测得红石峡谷谷肩河流相砂砾石层泥质胶结物年代为(374.86±31.86)ka B.P.;与谷肩宽谷同期发育的灰岩溶蚀裂隙中蚀余红土的年龄为(340.74±28.96)ka B.P.;控制红石峡形成的黑龙潭断裂其分支断裂中断层泥年代为(300.04±25.50)ka B.P.。据以上证据并与子房河阶地级序及年代的综合对比认为:红石峡谷主要受黑龙王庙断裂的控制,形成于中更新世中期(Qp2-2)451—(374.86±31.86)ka B.P.之后。本研究利用测年数据对红石峡谷形成年代进行了定量约束,对太行山南缘地貌与新构造运动的研究具有参考价值。  相似文献

For city planning and reducing potential earthquake risk, it's necessary to detect the information of the buried faults in an urban area especially, including the location and activities. An integrated technique with geophysical and geological methods, including the shallow seismic reflection profile, electrical resistivity measurement, geologic borehole section, and exploration trench, was used to detect the Chengnanhe fault, which is one of the two main faults passing through the Weihai urban area in Shandong province, China. The results show that it is a normal fault striking with E-W direction, and it is relatively inactive and stable. By using the thermoluminescence (TL) dating, we found that the Chengnanhe fault initiated in mid-Pleistocene and there was no offset after late Pleistocene. Such an integrated technique with multiple geological and geophysical methods provides a significant assessment of earthquake risk for city planning in urban areas.  相似文献

At about 173 ka BP of the late period of mid-Pleistocene, the second terrace of the river had been formed as a result of uplift happening in Shangshan area because of the cli-mate, sea level change and tectonic action. Between 173?75 ka BP, aeolian deposited on the terrace, a layer of reticulate red clayey soil about 80?100 cm thick deposited and developed under the warmer and higher temperature. In the last glacial period, the drop of the tem-perature and the decrease of the precipitation induced the dust-storms increased, A layer of Xiashu loess about 1.0?1.5 m thick accumulated on Shangshan terrace in the last glacial, which has the reticulate red clayey soil buried. At the beginning of the Holocene (11500 a BP?), temperature went higher gradually and precipitation got more, the pre-persons moved on the Shangshan terrace (11,400?8600 a BP), which is one of the most important archaeo-logical sites, and can connect the paleolithic culture with Neolithic culture. It could be as-sumed from the results that the lower reaches of the Yangtze River are the home of rice cul-tivation, too. The lower place to the west of the Shangshan site experienced the two cycles process of the fluvial facies and the lacustrine facies, indicating that the water source of the pre-historical Shangshan is the river water or lake water. Two AMS 14C age proved the water source disappeared more than 1000 years ago.  相似文献

浙江上山遗址剖面记录中更新世以来的环境演变   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
通过对上山文化遗址的野外勘察、野外采样和室内粒度、磁化率、释光年代(OSL)和AMS14C年代分析,探讨了上山地区地貌演变过程,分析了上山文化形成与发展的环境背景。研究结果表明,中更新世早期,上山地区为河流相砾石层堆积,中更新世晚期173kaBP左右,由于气候和海面变化及其新构造运动的影响,形成了河流的二级阶地。而后阶地上接受风尘堆积,形成了中更新世晚期的网纹红土。晚更新世,粉尘堆积加速,堆积了厚约1m的下蜀黄土。全新世(11.5kaBP-)开始,气候转暖,粉尘堆积速率降低,上山台地上保存有命名为"上山文化"的新石器遗址,其年代为11400 ̄8600aBP,遗址中发掘出大量陶器和石器工具,并发现有栽培水稻遗存,这是迄今为止长江下游地区发现的最早新石器遗址,是探索该地区农业起源和新石器文化演化具有重要意义的地点。上山台地西侧低地经历了河流相—湖沼相—河流相—湖沼相的地貌过程,并且AMS14C年代表明,西侧水源消亡于距今1000多年,而台地东侧仍有河流流过,表明上山遗址所处地貌位置为靠近河湖水源的河流阶地之上覆有风成黄土的低平台地。  相似文献

测定了我国部分球粒陨石的自然热释光峰温、峰半高宽度和灵敏度, 强冲击型陨石的热释光灵敏度偏低,峰温、峰半高宽温度则偏高。岩庄陨石属天然冲击球粒陨石,具有强烈的冲击特征。测定岩庄陨石两种不同颜色冲击脉体的热释光,其强度明显地不一样,并发现该陨石的热释光具有β辐照诱发热释光位移和退火热释光位移现象。冲击作用明显地改变着热释光的各种特性。  相似文献

Quartz grains zeroed by heat and subsequently irradiated—either in the laboratory, or naturally in volcanic deposits—were exposed to sunlight for several months prior to TL measurements. As a result, the residual TL, in either the Blue or the Red, appeared to grow significantly with the radiation-dose experienced by the grains since zeroing. In another experiment, unheated sedimentary quartz grains, sampled at the very surface of a coastal sand-dune, were irradiated and subsequently exposed to sunlight before TL measurements. The residual Red-TL still exhibited a strong dose-dependence, but at a level that was higher than the natural signal. Finally, it was concluded that the so-called “unbleachable TL” is not a constant, intrinsic quantity, for a given quartz sample.

Because the residual TL is strongly correlated with the radiation dose experienced since the last zeroing by heat, it can theoretically be quoted in terms of “dose”, as is sometimes done. However, this raises the question of its correct evaluation, and, on the other hand, there is a risk of misinterpreting its physical meaning in the case of unheated sediments.

In the context of sediment dating, the experimentally-estimated residual signal that is routinely subtracted from the total signal for palaeodose estimation is, therefore, higher than the signal that would have been measured prior to burial. Such an effect introduces an error that can be significant for Red TL. It can be corrected for, at least approximately, from experimental exploration of the dose-dependence of the residual TL.  相似文献
