AbstractThis paper presents an improved plasticity force-resultant model for anchors deeply embedded in clays, developed from large deformation finite element analyses. The current available force-resultant models for anchors are mainly developed from small strain finite element analysis while experimental approach has not been used due to technical challenges. The advantage of large deformation finite element analysis is that it provides much more data points to fit the yield surface than small strain finite element analysis, in addition to avoiding excess mesh distortion problems. Furthermore, the flow rule or normality can be effectively checked in the large deformation finite element analysis and further used to improve the fitting quality. After validated against retrospective simulations, the better performance of the developed plasticity force-resultant model is demonstrated by comparing with available experimental observations from centrifuge test. 相似文献

This paper presents a closed-form relationship between small and finite strain cavity expansion solutions. Its derivation is based on the non-linearly elastic–perfectly plastic cylindrical (or spherical) problem considering a general Mohr’s criterion and constant plastic dilatancy. It is shown, however, that it is sufficiently accurate for general expansion problems not obeying plane-strain rotationally (or spherically) symmetric conditions and involving strain-hardening/softening constitutive behaviour. Therefore, this relationship quantifies the error stemming from the computational assumption of small deformations and provides a simple and efficient way of accounting for geometric non-linearity based entirely on conventional computational methods: ‘self-correction’ of small strain analyses results. 相似文献

The ultimate bearing capacity of two closely spaced strip footings, placed on a cohesionless medium and loaded simultaneously
to failure at the same magnitude of failure load, was determined by using an upper bound limit analysis. A logarithmic spiral
radial shear zone, comprising of a number of triangular rigid blocks, was assumed to exist around each footing edge. The equations
of the logarithmic spiral arcs were based on angles φL and φR rather than soil friction angle φ; the values of φL and φR were gradually varied in between 0 and φ. The ultimate bearing capacity was found to become maximum corresponding to a certain
critical spacing between the footings. For spacing greater than the critical, the bearing capacity was found to decrease continuously
with increase in the spacing. The extent of the spacing corresponding to which the ultimate bearing capacity becomes either
maximum or equal to that of a single isolated footing increases with increase in φ. The results compare reasonably well with

渝东平行岭谷区土壤的蠕移,主要发生在侏罗系中自统自流井组(J1-2z)地层中,在水体和重力作用下,风化岩层和上覆土层沿斜坡缓慢向下蠕移,对农地,民房及水利设备等产生严重破坏。分析测定表明研究区的粘性岩土被为低膨胀性粘性土,粘接矿物以高岭石为主,蒙脱石为次,化学成分以SiO2胶粒含量最高,最后提出建筑物的地基处理和湿度指标控制,农田基本建设采用区域环境绿化增强土壤排水能力等方面的防治措施。 相似文献

A centrifuge test is performed to investigate the ultimate lateral capacity of a free-head rigid monopile foundation in normally consolidated (NC) clay. Based on the test result, an upper-bound velocity field is constructed to illustrate the evolution of the soil resisting mechanisms with the progressive rotation and the effect on reaction forces during loading. Simultaneously finite element analyses are also employed to model the centrifuge test and verify the conclusion of the upper bound analysis. Finally, an empirical expression is presented for predicting the upper-bound collapse loads of monopiles with different eccentricity/length ratios and length/diameter ratios in NC clay. 相似文献

This paper presents a refined Mohr-Coulomb model for sands based on the critical state theory. The refined model adjusts a dilatancy angle based on the state parameter with respect to the critical state line. Furthermore, a friction angle is decomposed into the critical state friction angle and a portion of the dilatancy angle to capture the peak phenomenon of dilative sands. The elemental simulations of the drained and undrained triaxial compression tests on Toyoura sand using the refined model showed much better performance than the conventional Mohr-Coulomb model. 相似文献

The Gulf of Corinth is one of the most active extensional regions in the Mediterranean area characterized by a high rate of seismicity. However, there are still open questions concerning the role and the geometry of the numerous active faults bordering the basin, as well as the mechanisms governing the seismicity. In this paper, we use a 2-D plane strain finite element analysis to constrain the upper crust rheology by modelling the available deformation data (GPS and geomorphology). We consider a SSW–NNE cross-section of the rift cutting the main active normal faults (Aigion, West Eliki and Off-Shore faults). The models run for 650 Kyr assuming an elasto-viscoplastic rheology and 1.3 cm yr−1 horizontal extension as boundary condition (resulting from GPS data). We model the horizontal and vertical deformation rates and the accumulation of plastic strain at depth, and we compare them with GPS data, with long term uplift rates inferred from geomorphology and with the distribution of seismicity, respectively. Our modelling results demonstrate that dislocation on high-angle normal faults in a plastic crustal layer plays a key role in explaining the extremely localized strain within the Gulf of Corinth. Conversely, the contribution of structures such as the antithetic Trizonia fault or the buried hypothetical subhorizontal discontinuity are not necessary to model observed data. 相似文献
