The magnetic field of the Baikal rift zone differs both from that of adjacent territories and from oceanic rifts in its character and intensity. There is no strip-like structure of the field in Baikal. It is assumed that the thickness of the magnetic anomaly-generating layer in this region is small, due to a high thermal gradient in the crust. Basic intrusions are predicted at depths up to 18 km. A close correlation is found between dynamic processes in the near-earth tropical atmosphere, conditioned by air pressure anomalies in the Azor maximum, and the inter-annual ocean surface temperature variability in the north equatorial current area and in some other areas of the North Atlantic. A regression relation is proposed for calculating the sea surface temperature from the air pressure maximum in the Azor maximum. We discuss the anomalously high (low) upper ocean layer temperatures in the north equatorial current area induced by dynamic anomalies in the near-earth atmosphere and by the bottom topography.Translated by V. The effect of meteorological, landscape, geological-pedological, and hydrogeological factors on the formation of total water balance and infiltration recharge of groundwater.
