THE CORPORATE INTERVIEW AS A RESEARCH METHOD IN ECONOMIC GEOGRAPHY*

The open-ended corporate interview as a qualitative research method is proposed as a valuable component of an evidentiary strategy in economic geography. It is argued to be more sensitive than other survey methods to historical, institutional, and strategic complexity. The corporate interview method is particularly appropriate in periods of economic and social change that challenge traditional analytical categories and theoretical principles. Some problems inherent to the method, and strategies for minimizing their impact on the research project, are described.  相似文献

本文提出了激变变星０６２３十７１的４个时间分辨光谱，覆盖轨道周期的７３％．其中的３个谱清楚地显示了各种光谱特征随轨道运动的变化，在流量、能谱以及谱线轮廓方面的这种变化正是对一个倾角不太大的激变变星所期望的．然而另一个曝光对分钟的谱，流量和视向速度与预期的相比都太大，很难加以解释，可能它是一次象ＡＥＡｑｒ中观测到的跃发事件．  相似文献

- This paper discusses the application of fractal dimension and fractals in ocean engineering. To handle some ocean environment problems, the existing fractal method, in which the fractal dimension is a constant, can be used. For some complicated problems in ocean engineering, this paper presents the concept of the variable dimension fractals (D = f(r)), i. e., the fractal dimension D is the function of characteristic scale r instead of a constant. 激光雷达是近年来兴起的一种快速获取地物目标三维信息的主动遥感技术。其采集的离散激光点具有数据量大,信息丰富等特点。目前常用的LIDAR数据存储格式,在存储LIDAR数据时存在种种不足,且数据交换和共享困难。LAS格式是ASPRS制定的标准LIDAR数据交换格式,能较好地解决多属性离散激光点数据的存储问题,具有结构严谨,便于扩展等优点。本文在对LAS格式进行解析的基础上,针对LAS变长记录的扩展域,介绍了一些实际的应用。  相似文献

Conceptualizations and re-conceptualizations of scale have been powerful tools for explaining spatial processes that transcend traditionally-bounded territories. Examining the role of individuals within a politics of scale can do even more to explain multi-scalar conflicts. This paper does so by examining struggles over airport expansion in the US, showing how an understanding of the various roles of individuals in the politics of scale – as sites of multiple scales, as actors constituting other scales, and as scales in and of themselves – better explains multi-scalar conflicts and offers more opportunities for resolving them.  相似文献
