东北夏季副高后部MCC暴雨的诊断分析   总被引:6,自引:1,他引:6  
本文对1989年7月22日出现在副高后部的一次MCC过程进行了动力诊断研究。结果表明:温度平流,积云对流加热和大尺度凝结加热是系统发生发展的主要物理因子。在MCC出现之前和形成初期,Q矢量的散度、旋度和用Q矢量表示的准地转锋生倾向以及不稳定区内水汽辐合量的大幅度增长均能提供大量可供预报员使用的信息。  相似文献

利用2010年7月22日苏皖中尺度对流复合体(MCC)数值模拟输出结果,考察了模式对MCC的模拟能力,并对模拟结果做了动力和热力诊断分析,以揭示盛夏江淮下游MCC的特征。结果表明:1) 三重嵌套网格距为3.3 km的区域WRF模式的模拟效果较佳,结果与实况一致,并可利用模拟降水的范围及强度来确定MCC的位置及演变。2) 此MCC维持约10 h,其南北不对称,并随西太平洋副热带高压西伸北抬而随之北抬。MCC核心区对流层低层有水汽丰沛的入流,并有强辐合区,呈对流不稳定层结;中层有深厚的强上升运动,并因凝结潜热大量释放呈中性层结;高层则有出流;MCC核心区对流降水非常强。3) 在垂直剖面上,该核心区散度存在中低层辐合、高层辐散的柱状结构,此配置有利于强对流维持和加强,中低层以上有深厚的强上升气流柱,这些都是MCC核心区存在强对流的标志。该MCC的螺旋结构表明其中的强对流高度有组织。  相似文献

A three-dimensional numerical model has been used to assess the effects of vertical stability and wind shear on the nature and form of meso-scale cellular convection (MCC). The model was shown to be capable of simulating a real occasion of MCC before it was used in idealised cases. These cases revealed different regimes in MCC: open cells, longitudinal bands and closed cells/transverse bands. Open cells were favoured by the existence of instability in the surface layer and a lack of wind shear in the Ekman layer. Longitudinal bands were favoured by similar conditions in the surface layer plus wind shear in the Ekman layer. A near-neutral surface layer favoured the occurrence of closed cells/transverse bands. The depth of convection in the longitudinal bands was a function of the stability in both the surface and Ekman layers and of the wind shear in the Ekman layer. The regimes are related to the instability and shear through bulk Richardson numbers in the surface and Ekman layers.  相似文献

A common mode of convection within the atmospheric boundary layer, mesoscale cellular convection (MCC), assumes the form of an organized array of three-dimensional polygonal cells. This study employs aircraft data, collected off the coast of California during the marine stratocumulus phase of the First ISCCP (International Satellite Cloud Climatology Project) Regional Experiment (FIRE), to investigate the closed cell variety of MCC. Forty-five transects of closed marine mesoscale convective cells are utilized in this study. Data from these transects are used to calculate first-order and scale-dependent second-order kinematic, thermodynamic, and radiation statistics. From these statistics, a conceptual model of closed MCC is constructed detailing the horizontal and vertical structure of the cells in coupled as well as decoupled boundary-layer environments.Mesoscale convective cells not only have a profound influence on the radiation budget of their environment, but also play a key role in governing the exchange of heat, moisture, and momentum between the atmosphere and the surface. During FIRE, the MCC-scale structures were found to be buoyantly-driven above cloud base and driven by perturbation pressure forces below. Microscale eddies generally worked in tandem with these MCC-scale structures to transport heat and moisture vertically throughout the cells. Microscale eddies were responsible for most of this transport within the surface layer, while MCC-scale structures performed most of the transport at mid-levels within the cells.  相似文献

本文给出了2001年8月24-25日在500hPa西北气流下产生的对流云团单体合并、加强形成中尺度对流复合体(简称MCC)的发展过程,并对其发生的环境条件进行了分析。结果表明,当低层水汽充足、局地大气具有潜在不稳定能量和适当的触发条件时,在500hPa西北气流控制的地区会出现中尺度对流复合体,产生强降水天气。本次过程主要是低层气流的辐合造成水汽、能量的聚积,低层的增暖增湿,高层的干冷空气入侵,形成了强的对流不稳定区;中尺度扰动及低空偏南气流在地面静止锋上被迫抬升,引起中尺度对流云团发展合并,是MCC生成的主要机制。  相似文献

利用WRF模式,从模式的不确定性角度来构造中尺度的集合预报,重点对比分析了不同物理参数化方案、物理过程随机扰动方案、积云对流参数化敏感参数扰动方案对中尺度对流复合体降水集合预报的影响。试验结果表明:3种物理过程扰动方法都可以反映中尺度对流复合体降水预报的不确定性特征,其预报效果比控制预报好。物理过程随机扰动方案集合平均的降水落区及强度最接近实况,并且其降水的ETS评分要高于其他2种方案。从均方根误差与离散度的角度来看,3种方案中物理过程随机扰动的均方根误差要小于其他2种方案,而其离散度要大于其他2种方案,物理过程随机扰动方案要优于其他2种方案。  相似文献

采用合成分析方法,将中国大陆中尺度对流复合体的生命史划分为7 个子阶段,详细探讨MCC演变过程中的能量生消特征。结果表明:在MCC的持续阶段,500hPa 以下始终有深厚不稳定层存在,不稳定度渐渐减小,水汽、热量从西南和偏南方进入MCC,最大通量值出现在900~500 hPa 高度。高、低、中空环流配合对MCC的启动和发展有重要意义。  相似文献

Buoy and satellite observations of mesoscale cellular convection (MCC) over the East China Sea in the vicinity of the Kuroshio current have been made during 14–18 February 1975, as a part of the Air Mass Transformation Experiment (AMTEX). Surface observations of solar radiation from spar buoys indicate the distinct passage of open and closed MCC that formed and continued for three consecutive days during an outbreak of cold polar air over the much warmer Kuroshio. A critical air-sea temperature of –5 °C for the occurrence of MCC has been substantiated. The time required for the passage of solar radiation peaks coupled with the buoy wind speed gave a computed closed cell diameter of 28 km, comparable to estimates from satellite photographs.The horizontal component of wind beneath the cloudy portion of a closed cell, due to convection, has been estimated as 0.6 m s–1. This represents the speed at which air near the sea surface moves from the edge toward the center of a closed cell. Also, the temperature difference obtained near the sea surface between the relatively cold descending branch and the warm ascending branch is 0.2°C. Similarly, the specific humidity difference of the less moist descending air near the edge and the moist ascending air near cell center is 9% (0.4 g/kg). Some indications were also found in the variation of horizontal wind direction with the passage of closed cells, since wind variations at the edge of passing cells exceeded the mean sequential variability (10.6 ° compared to 9.4 °).Sensible heat flux calculations associated with closed MCC suggest that strong surface heating can be associated with closed cells, previously reported by Hubert (1966) to be a characteristic of only open cells.Finally, the results of this study should remove any disclaimers that MCC appear in satellite photography simply because of a resolution bias and that the consideration of all visible clouds actually present would remove any periodicity one might expect to see in surface observations.  相似文献

Analyzed is a serious flight accident with a Boeing-747 aircraft happened on July 31, 2013 during its flight from Moscow to Hong Kong. The plane entered the upper crystal part of the mesoscale convective complex (MCC) and got damaged the compressors of three engines. This is considered to be caused by the so called ice crystal icing in the areas with high concentration of ice crystals. Considered are meteorological conditions in the corresponding part of the flight route and available information about this type of icing. To prevent aircrafts from ice crystal icing, special attention should be paid to very short-range forecasting, now casting, and detection of zones of deep intense convection, especially of MCC along the flight route.  相似文献

Near-surface wind velocities were measured on an array of anchored spar buoys in the East China Sea in February 1975 as a part of the Japanese AMTEX '75 (Air Mass Transformation Experiment), a subprogram of GARP. These data were used to determine the effects of atmospheric convection associated with mesoscale convective cells (MCC) on near-surface winds over the ocean. When MCC were present, a peak occurred in the near-surface wind spectrum in the so-called spectral gap.  相似文献

中尺度对流复合体(MCC)会给华北平原带来暴雨灾害。在对MCC普查的基础上,选取发生在华北平原上的3个典型个例合成出代表MCC发生前的环境场,并通过诊断分析考察了华北平原发生MCC的条件。结果表明,华北平原发生MCC的环境既不同于我国南方的MCC,也不同于北美。对于具有明显夜发性的MCC,所得到的MCC发生环境和条件,对预报当天傍晚华北平原是否有MCC发生有一定的参考价值。  相似文献

Wintertime observations of mesoscale cellular convection (MCC) over the East China Sea have resulted in criteria that have a remarkable similarity to those reported by Woodcock (1975) in the study of thermals and gull flight behavior. It has been determined that the surface wind speed (V) and the air-sea temperature difference (T) prescribe unique and compatible conditons for both the occurrence of MCC and soaring by sea gulls. Specifically, the onset of MCC when V is between 5 and 9 m s–1 is inversely proportional to T in the range 5 to 7 °C. Elsewhere, the onset of MCC occurs under conditions of direct proportionality between V and T. Necessary conditions for the occurrence of MCC due to heating from below are T 5 °C and V 5 m s–1. The boundaries of the convective regime for MCC are discussed and interpreted in accordance with the regime for sea-gull soaring and similarity concepts.  相似文献

本文应用一个近似的模式,分析了大气中小尺度对流发展时和环境(平均运动)间的非线性相互作用。分析结果指出,对流除在不稳定和中性稳定层结条件下可以发展外,在稳定层结条件下也可以得到发展,并且扰动的振幅最后均趋于有限值。同时,由于扰动的发展,大气的平均状态也要发生改变,不论开始时大气的层结如何,最后均趋向于中性,而大气的平均风速最后一般都要减小。  相似文献

A squall line in front of the tropical cyclone Pabuk occurred in the west of the Pearl River Delta to Zhanjiang on August 8th, 2007 when the storm approached South China. The development, structure and environmental conditions for this squall line were investigated in this study, with particular attention paid to the possible connection of this squall line with Pabuk. The observational data employed in this study are from soundings, Doppler weather radars and wind profile radars. The following six major conclusions are drawn by our observational analyses. (1) This squall line developed gradually from individual convective cells, and land breeze may be responsible for the onset of the squall line. (2) The path and intensity of the squall line were modulated by the environmental conditions. The squall line propagated along the coastline, and it was stronger on the landing side of the coastline compared with the surrounding in-land regions and oceanic regions. (3) The typical characteristics of tropical squall lines were seen in this squall line, including the cold-pool intensity, vertical structure and the wake flow stratiform precipitation at its developing and mature phases. (4) The environmental conditions of this squall line resemble those of tropical squall lines in terms of deep moist air and low convection condensation level. They also resemble mid-latitude squall lines in terms of the convective instable energy and vertical wind shear in the lower troposphere. (5) Two roles were played by the strong wind around Pabuk. On the one hand, it made the atmosphere more unstable via suppressed shallow convection and increased solar radiation. On the other hand, it enhanced the land-sea thermal contrast and therefore strengthened the sea breeze and the resultant water vapor transport. The sinking temperature inversion prevented the occurrence of low-layer weak convection and accumulated convection instability energy for the development of the strong convection.  相似文献

A turbulence data set collected by the research aircraft Hercules and Falcon in the planetary boundary layer (PBL) over the North Sea during Rayleigh-Bénard convection (RBC) is analysed. Altogether nearly three hundred cell passages at different levels and in two different flight directions were sampled.The convective boundary-layer height (H) was about 1 km, and the RBC cells had a diameter D of roughly 2–3 km, resulting in an aspect ratio A = D/H 2–3. This value is also found in the case of RBC in laboratory-scale flows, whereas most of the recent PBL experimental work reports convection PBL rolls with A 3 and mesoscale cellular convection (MCC) with A 10–40 over the oceans.The large number of RBC cell passages made it possible to composite their average structure. Due to the more complex three-dimensional structure and the importance of thermals to the RBC dynamics, spectral, temporal and spatial decompositions and model calculations were necessary to illuminate structure, dynamics, energetics and organisation. The final impression is that the structure of RBC in the PBL is given by a honeycomb-like arrangement of short-lived mixed-layer thermals with more passive downward motions in between. The regularity of the Cu-cloud cover results partly from the more stationary flow in the cloud-free cell centres. On the other hand it is shown that active as well as inactive clouds contribute to the cloud cover. Thus, the PBL flow and the cloud cover are decoupled, at least temporarily and locally.Due to sparse observational and measured information about RBC occurrence and structure in the PBL, additional material was gathered, resulting in the impression that RBC is one additional realised mode of organised convection in the PBL, as has already been clarified for PBL rolls and MCC by recent investigations.  相似文献

This paper reviews the main theoretical progress of mesoscale weather dynamics since 2003, including: (1) The dynamic mechanisms of balanced and unbalanced flow are applied to study the genesis and development problems of mesoscale circulation. The symmetric instability and transverse-wave instability are analyzed in line and vortex atmosphere convection, and further research has been done on nonlinear convective symmetric instability. The interaction between forced convection and unstable convection and the wave characteristics of mesoscale motion are also discussed. (2) Intermediate atmosphere dynamic boundary layer models are developed. The complicated nonlinear interaction is analyzed theoretically between the atmospheric boundary layer and the free atmosphere. The structure of the topography boundary layer, atmospheric frontogenesis, the structure and circulation of the low-level front and other boundary layer dynamic problems are discussed. (3) The formation and development of meso-β-scale rainstorms under the background of the East-Asia atmosphere circulation are diagnosed with the variation of MPV (moist potential vorticity) anomalies. And some physical vectors are modified and applied in the moist atmosphere.  相似文献

Characteristics of the total clear-sky greenhouse effect (GA) and cloud radiative forcings (CRFs), along with the radiative-related water vapor and cloud properties simulated by the Spectral Atmospheric Model developed by LASGIAP (SAMIL) are evaluated. Impacts of the convection scheme on the simulation of CRFs are discussed by using two AMIP (Atmospheric Model Inter-comparison Project) type simulations employing different convection schemes: the new Zhang-McFarlane (NZH) and Tiedtke (TDK) convection schemes. It shows that both the climatological GA and its response to El Nio warming are simulated well, both in terms of spatial pattern and magnitude. The impact of the convection scheme on GA is not significant. The climatological longwave CRF (LWCRF) and its response to El Nio warming are simulated well, but with a prominently weaker magnitude. The simulation of the climatology (response) of LWCRF in the NZH (TDK) run is slightly more realistic than in the TDK (NZH) simulation, indicating significant impacts of the convection scheme. The shortwave CRF (SWCRF) shows large biases in both spatial pattern and magnitude, and the results from the TDK run are better than those from the NZH run. A spuriously excessive negative climatological SWCRF over the southeastern Pacific and an insufficient response of SWCRF to El Nio warming over the tropical Pacific are seen in the NZH run. These two biases are alleviated in the TDK run, since it produces vigorous convection, which is related to the low threshold for convection to take place. Also, impacts of the convection scheme on the cloud profile are discussed.  相似文献

2007年8月8日,热带风暴“帕布”移动到华南近海,在珠江三角洲至湛江以西地区出现了一次强飑线天气过程。根据多普勒天气雷达、风廓线雷达和气象探空等观测数据,分析此次台前飑线的生成、演变过程、组织结构以及环境大气条件特征,并对热带风暴“帕布”与台前飑线环境大气的关系进行初步探讨。观测和分析结果显示:(1)此次台前飑线系统是由孤立的对流单体逐渐发展而成,陆风环流的抬升作用有可能对飑线的初始生成起到重要作用;(2)台前飑线移动路径和强度受海岸附近环境条件的影响;在海岸靠近陆地一侧的强度远比内陆和海洋上强,移动路径倾向于沿海岸线平行;(3)台前飑线在发展和成熟阶段,其水平结构具有典型的尾流层云降水特征;其冷池强度和垂直结构具有典型的热带飑线特征;(4)台前飑线发生在具有深厚水汽层、对流凝结高度较低的环境大气条件中,与热带飑线的环境大气条件类似;而对流不稳定能量和低层垂直风切变强度与中纬度飑线接近;(5)热带气旋外围大风一方面使低层风切变加强,同时为环境大气提供了高层的水汽。在下沉环流区内太阳辐射使陆地明显增温,一方面使位势不稳定能量增大,另一方面也使海陆温差增大、海风环流加强,导致低层风切变进一步加强,低层水汽输送增大。下沉逆温抑制了低层弱对流的发生,为强对流的发展积累了对流不稳定能量。   相似文献
