A densely sampled profile (58 cm in thickness) composed of 13 samples of the Kupferschiefer and overlying Zechstein carbonates from the Sangerhausen Basin, Germany has been analysed by various geochemical and microscopic methods in order to clarify the mechanism of base metal accumulation. In this location, the Kupferschiefer is only slightly influenced by the hematite-bearing, oxidized fluids calledRote Fäule. The determination of facies-dependent parameters along the profile indicates that Kupferschiefer from the Sangerhausen Basin was largely deposited in a marine environment; only at the beginning of Kupferschiefer sedimentation did euxinic conditions prevail. The bottom part of the profile is significantly enriched in trace elements such as Cu, Ph, Zn, As, Co, Ag and U. The Cu concentration amounts to 19.88 wt.%. Post-depositional oxidation of the organic matter is observed only in the transition zone between the Kupferschiefer and the Zechstein conglomerate indicating the influence of ascending, oxidizing brines. Microscopic analyses show that only Fe sulfides form framboidal textures; Cu minerals are present along the total profile preferentially in fractures and as patchy structures composed of chalcocite, chalcopyrite and bornite. In the highly mineralized bottom section, Cu sulfides are associated with pyrobitumen, sparry calcite and arsenopyrite. Results from maturation studies of organic matter suggest that the maximum temperature affecting the Kupferschiefer was approximately 130°C.A 3-step-process of metal accumulation is proposed. During deposition of the sediment, framboidal pyrite and pyrite precursors were precipitated by bacterial SO42− reduction (BSR). During diagenesis the pyrite and pyrite precursors were largely replaced by mixed Cu/Fe minerals and by chalcocite (PR). In the section with very high Cu contents (> 8%) reduced sulfur from Fe-sulfides was not sufficient for precipitation of Cu and other trace metals from ascending solutions. In this part of the profile, thermochemical SO42− reduction (TSR) occurred after pyrite replacement as indicated by the presence of pyrobitumen and sparry calcite.  相似文献

The bulk composition of organic matter and saturated and aromatic hydrocarbons extracted from 16 samples collected from two Kuperschiefer profiles in the Rudna mine,Southwest Poland has been analyzed to study the role of organic matter during base metal enrichment in the Kupferschiefer shale. The results indicated that the extract yields and saturated hydrocarbon yields decreased with increasing base metal contents.GC and GC/MS analyses indicated that n -alkanes and alkylated aromatic compounds were depleted and may have served as hydrogen donators for thermochemical sulfate reduction. The enrichment of base metal is closely connected with the destruction of hydrocarbons.  相似文献

Previous studies have shown that the oxidizing brines from the Early Permian Rotliegende sequence have influences on the organic matter of Kupferschiefer. However, inside the Rotliegende sequence there are two other black shales: the Lower and Upper Antracosia shales, which have not been studied as much in detail as in Kupferschiefer. In the present study 12 samples from the Lower and Upper Antracosia shales were analyzed by organic geochemical methods in order to clarify the influences of the oxidizing brines on organic matter. The results indicate that the organic matter of the samples from the Upper Antracosia shale and the bottom of the Lower Antracosia shale was oxidized under the influences of the oxidizing brines. The oxidation resulted in a depletion of saturated hydrocarbons and the alky Is of the aromatic compounds.  相似文献

The concentrations of the lanthanide rare earth elements (REE) and Pt group elements (PGE) were measured in the Kupferschiefer from the Polish Zechstein Basin at, and in proximity to, the Rote Fäule near the Lubin Mining District. The Rote Fäule is a zone of post-depositional oxidation characterized by the presence of extensive amounts of Fe(III) oxides replacing syn-sedimentary framboidal pyrite. Outward from the Rote Fäule, the remainder of the Kupferschiefer is composed of Cu- and Pb/Zn-mineralized shale surrounding the Rote Fäule and a non-mineralized pyritic black shale in the central basin. The leading hypothesis explaining the high concentrations of PGE, and REE in the Kupferschiefer states that PGE, REE and the associated base metals were mobilized by oxidizing Cl brines which migrated outward from the Rote Fäule into the reduced Kupferschiefer. According to available thermodynamic data, PGE were in all likelihood present as chloro-complexes in these oxidizing brines, as geologically realistic concentrations of Pt, Pd and Au could be transported as chloro-complexes. The Eh of these brines decreased as they migrated further from the Rote Fäule and into the Kupferschiefer. Base metals and PGE were precipitated in the order of their decreased solubility in these brines. As a result, the concentrations of least soluble PGE (Pt) are highest in the Rote Fäule and in the transition zone adjacent to the Rote Fäule (e.g. [Pt]=202–537 ppb) while the concentrations of the more soluble metals in these brines (Ag, Cu, Pb, and Re) are highest in the reduced-mineralized Kupferschiefer. The sources of the PGE and REE are enigmatic. It is likely that the metals were derived either from the underlying Rotliegendes sandstones and volcanics, the Variscan basement rocks, or the Kupferschiefer shale whose metals were mobilized by saline, oxidizing fluids released during intra-continental rifting in the Triassic period.  相似文献

A study of the extracts of samples recording a transgressive–regressive succession of the Werra cyclothem, Zechstein (Upper Permian), from the southern margin of the European Permian Basin (the Fore-Sudetic Monocline, Poland) provides an insight into major sources of organic matter and diagenetic processes. The studied cross-section comprises all lithologies representative for the European basin, including transgressive sandstones (Weissliegend) and organic-rich shales (Kupferschiefer) followed by carbonates as well as regressive anhydrites with intercalations of rock salt. Due to the variable influence of overlapping diagenetic processes that affected the organic matter, i.e. maturation and late diagenetic oxidation related to base metal mineralisation, a reliable comparison of the biomarker results is only possible for the major upper part of the section (ca. 38 m, including carbonates and evaporites) but not for the oxidised first 2–3 m from the base of the Kupferschiefer. The transition from carbonate to evaporate sedimentation is associated with a shift to predominant even C-numbered n-alkanes, increased abundance of carotanes and high homohopane index reflecting enhanced reducing conditions. The presence of the C25 regular isoprenoid, squalane, biphytane and the rapid decrease in the pristane/phytane ratio in the evaporites are mainly controlled by the important contribution from both halophilic and methanogenic archaea. The occurrence of gammacerane in the anhydrites suggests development of water column stratification at some stages of the sea regression. This is associated with appearance of specific aryl isoprenoids with a lycopane carbon skeleton most likely related to Botrycoccus braunii race L algae. Lycopane derivative occurrence suggests that such an algal race could have occurred since Permian (currently known Recent-Eocene). The presence of the abundant freshwater/brackish algal biomarkers in evaporititic deposits can be envisaged in the costal part of the Zechstein basin with temporary salt wedge estuary water stratification. The algae bloomed in the top fertile fresh/brackish water layer fed by rivers, and the algal biomass was deposited on the sea floor covered with evaporitic brine. The stratification periodically broke down during precipitation of the rock salt, presumably due to a decrease in riverine water input, as revealed by characteristic disappearance of gammacerane and hopane distributions similar to those observed for the carbonate rocks. The methylphenanthrenes/phenanthrene ratio was used together with methyldibenzothiophenes/ dibenzothiophene ratio to assess maturity. These maturity estimations indicate that the peak of oil window has been reached, which is confirmed by other biomarker maturity parameters based on sterane and hopane distributions. The maturity stage of oil generation and expulsion was further confirmed by the presence of solid bitumen as cements in the sandstone underlying Kupferschiefer and bitumen veins and lenses in the carbonates.  相似文献

Biomarker distributions based on GC and GC-MS data supplemented by stable carbon isotopic compositions based on irm (isotope ratio monitoring) GC-MS data have been used to investigate changes in depositional conditions in a number of samples from a 2 m core (Rheinberger Heide) covering the entire deposition of the Permian Kupferschiefer (Lower Rhine Basin, northwest Germany). Compound classes investigated are aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons and maleimides (1H-pyrrole-2,5-diones). The core has been previously divided into four sections: TI, TIIA, TIIB and TIII based on lithology. The biomarker distributions and the δ13C values of components indicate contributions from cyanobacteria, algae, green sulphur bacteria and higher plants (minor) throughout Kupferschiefer deposition. All of the phytoplanktonic components show 13C enrichment in the lowest section, suggesting a greater productivity. The occurrence of components derived from green sulphur bacteria (Chlorobiaceae) indicates that the entire deposition was characterised by periods of photic zone anoxia. Such conditions were rapidly established after the initial transgression of the Zechstein Sea and may have been productivity-driven, but were less prevalent during deposition of the upper core sections.  相似文献

max vs the present depth of the Kupferschiefer, soluble organic matter (SOM) yields, and relative proportions of saturated and aromatic hydrocarbons of the SOM provide evidence for an oxidative alteration of organic matter in highly mineralized Kupferschiefer samples near the Rote F?ule zones. This is confirmed by differences in the composition of the saturated and aromatic hydrocarbon fractions of the soluble organic matter: Saturated hydrocarbons from Rote F?ule samples are dominated by short-chain n-alkanes and higher abundances of pristane and phytane relative to heptadecane (n-C17) and octadecane (n-C18), respectively, compared with samples more distant to the Rote F?ule zone. Compositional changes of the aromatic hydrocarbon fractions with decreasing distance to that zone are characterized by the occurrence of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and elevated ratios of phenanthrene to methylphenanthrenes that are attributed to demethylation reactions and resulted in a decrease of the methylphenanthrene index (MPI 1). Kupferschiefer samples from the barren zone of the Polish Basin do not show these alteration patterns. The observed variations in organic matter composition with burial depth are consistent with changes due to increasing thermal maturation. Maturity assessment is achieved from MPI 1 and the methyldibenzothiophene ratio (MDR). From the relationship between the maturity of organic matter in terms of vitrinite reflectance values and depth of the Kupferschiefer strata, a continuous increase in reflectance of vitrinite is obtained within the Polish Basin. The alteration pattern of organic matter related to base metal mineralization of the Kupferschiefer corresponds to changes in the isotopic composition of organic carbon and calcite. Kerogen within, or close to, Rote F?ule zone is enriched in 13C caused by the preferential release of isotopically light organic compounds through progressive degradation of organic matter. The opposite tendency towards lower δ 13C and δ 18O values of calcite provides evidence for isotopic exchange between carbonate and the oxidizing, ore-bearing solutions and for organic matter remineralization. In contrast, organic matter and calcite from the Kupferschiefer do not show regular trends in δ 13C with increasing thermal maturation. Received: 25 June 1999 / Accepted: 1 December 1999  相似文献

Origin of the Kupferschiefer polymetallic mineralization in Poland   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
The Kupferschiefer ore series, between the Lower Permian (Rotliegendes) terrestrial redbeds/volcanics and the Upper Permian (Zechstein) marine sequence, is developed as dark-grey organic matter-rich and metal sulphide-containing deposits (reduced zone) and as red-stained organic matter-depleted and iron oxide-bearing sediments (oxidized zone?=?Rote Fäule). The transition zone from oxidized to reduced rocks occurs both vertically and horizontally. This zone is characterized by sparsely disseminated remnant copper sulphides within hematite-bearing sediments, replacements of copper sulphides by iron oxides and covellite, and oxide pseudomorphs after framboidal pyrite. These textural features and copper sulphide replacements after pyrite in reduced sediments imply that the main oxide/sulphide mineralization postdated formation of an early-diagenetic pyrite. Hematite-dominated sediments locally contain enrichments of gold and PGE. The Kupferschiefer mineralization resulted from upward and laterally flowing fluids which oxidized originally pyritiferous organic matter-rich sediments to form hematitic Rote Fäule areas, and which emplaced base and noble metals into reduced sediments. It is argued that long-lived and large-scale lateral fluid flow caused the cross-cutting relationships, expansion of the hematitic alteration front, redistribution of noble metals at the outer parts of oxidized areas, and the location of copper orebodies directly above and around oxidized and gold-bearing areas. The Rote Fäule may be a guide to favourable areas for both the Cu-Ag and new Au-Pt-Pd Kupferschiefer-type deposits.  相似文献

The Kupferschiefer is an approximately 0.5 m thick black marly shale of Lower Zechstein age in Germany. If one includes some of its footwall and hanging wall, it contains 300 Mt Cu, 800 Mt Zn and 300 Mt Pb. The regional pattern of metal distribution demonstrates its relationship to Variscan and Permian tectonic structures. Faults and the topographic relief of the basement apparently controlled the uprise and lateral migration of reducing and slightly acid hot brines from deeper crustal levels to supply the metals for the mineralization of the Proto-Kupferschiefer. Deep fluids are mainly richer in Zn than Pb and richer in Pb than Cu. Mixing of such slightly acid fluids with slightly alkaline formation waters (seawater) caused a gradient in pH from about three to eight and in sulfide concentration. Most of the sulfide came from dissolved pyrite which was very light in sulfur isotopes. This gradient controlled the sequential precipitation of bornite, chalcopyrite, (chalcocite), galena and sphalerite, which is observed in a lateral and vertical zoning of these sulfides. The fluids experienced a fractionation of the metals during migration over meter to kilometer distances from the tectonically controlled vents within the unconsolidated Proto-Kupferschiefer. Close to the vents the sulfide deposits attained concentrations up to 2% Zn + Pb + Cu. The migration of the metals over large distances took place in unconsolidated sediment. Thus the major mineralization of the Kupferschiefer has to be classed as an early diagenetic process.  相似文献

A set of organic-rich shales of the upper Permian Longtan Formation, which is widely developed in the northeastern part of the Sichuan Basin, is a key formation for the next step of exploration and development. At present, most studies on this set of formations have focused on the reservoir characteristics and reservoir formation mechanism of the shales, and basic studies on the palaeoenvironment and organic matter(OM) enrichment mechanism have not been fully carried out. The relationships between oil shales, evaporites and sedimentary ore deposits can be classified in terms of stratigraphic and geochemical coherence. Oil shale and black shale deposition commonly follows continental red beds and is in turn followed by evaporite deposition. This transgressive-regressive sequence represents an orderly succession of depositional environments in space and time and results in stratigraphic coherence. The amount of organic carbon of a sediment depends on productivity and preservation, both of which are enhanced by saline environments. Work on Great Salt Lake. Utah, allows us to estimate that only 5% of TOC originally deposited is preserved. Inorganic carbonate production is similar to TOC production, but preservation is much higher.Oil shales and black shales commonly are enriched in heavy metals through scavenging by biogenic particles and complexation by organic matter. Ore deposits are formed from such rocks through secondary enrichment processes, establishing a geochemical coherence between oil shales and ore deposits. The Permian Kupferschiefer of N. Europe is used as an example to define a Kupferschiefer type (KST) deposit. Here oxygenated brines in contact with red beds become acidified through mineral precipitation and acquire metals by dissolving oxide coatings. Oxidation of the black shale leads to further acid production and metal acquisition and eventually to sulfide deposition along a reducing front. In order to form ore bodies, the stratigraphic coherence of the red bed-black shale-evaporite succession must be joined by the geochemical coherence of the ore body-evaporite-black shale association. The Cretaceous Cu-Zn deposits of Angola, the Zambian Copperbelt as well as the Creta, Oklahoma, deposits are other KST examples. In the Zambian Copperbelt, evaporites are indicated by the carbonate lenticles thought to be pseudomorphs after gypsum-anhydrite nodules. MVT deposits are also deposited by acid brines, but at more elevated temperatures and with carbonates as principal host rocks. The Pine Point deposits are cited for their close association with evaporites.Alkaline, metal-rich brines are postulated for the HYC deposit of McArthur River, Australia. Such brines are known from the Green River Formation and deposits formed from such brines constitute the GRT class. They can be recognized by the presence of Magadi-type cherts and zeolite-analcime-K-spar tuffs. The Cu-Co ore bodies of Outokumpu, Finland, might also belong to this type. A new classification of sedimentary ore deposits is proposed, based on their geochemical environment. KST and MVT are formed from acid ore fluids, while GRT and CT (Creede type) are derived from basic ore fluids. pH of the fluids is best evaluated not from the ores themselves, but from their effect on the host-rocks.  相似文献

As geochemical appraisals of mineral regions of commercial prospectivity evolve, the organic matter associated with metal rich ores has attracted greater attention. Petroleum basin and modern seafloor hydrothermal vent studies have suggested that organic matter can have a significant influence on the behaviour of mineralising fluids. There have been many isolated reports of certain organic compositional or morphological (e.g. pyrobitumen) features showing an apparent relationships with hydrothermal fluids or minerals, raising expectations that organic based parameters might be useful to mineral exploration. However, the understanding of organic–inorganic relationships in Earth systems is far from complete. For example, the detailed mechanics of the interaction of organics with hydrothermal fluids over geological time remain largely undefined. Organic geochemistry studies have traditionally involved the measurement and interpretation of the hydrocarbon composition of sedimentary rocks. Here we review the types of aliphatic hydrocarbons, aromatic hydrocarbons and metalloporphyrins often detected from organic geochemical investigations in mineral-rich regions. Such molecular data can be particularly diagnostic of biochemical sources and the palaeo-environments at the time mineral associated organic matter was deposited. Sub-surface trends of hydrocarbon alteration may also reflect major biogeochemical processes such as thermal maturity and biodegradation. Organic geochemistry data can also occasionally provide information about the nature (e.g., origin, composition, temperatures) and migration pathways of hydrothermal fluids and can make a contribution to holistic ore genesis models. The well preserved organic matter associated with the economic “Here's Your Chance” Pb–Zn–Ag Mine (Paleoproterozoic Barney Creek Formation, McArthur Basin, Australia) and the transition metal-rich Early Permian Kupferschiefer Formation (Germany–Poland) have attracted significant attention. A more detailed summary of the organic character of these deposits is provided to highlight the contribution organic geochemistry can make to understanding mineralisation processes. Most organic geochemical studies of highly mineralised regions, however, have not adequately addressed the significance of organic matter to mineralisation. A slightly different analytical focus than traditionally used for exploration appraisal of petroleum hydrocarbons may be required to properly evaluate the significance of organic species to the mobilisation, transport and deposition of ore metals. The characterisation and subsequent thermodynamic modeling of organic substances and complexes within metalliferous hydrothermal systems will contribute to a better understanding of the nature and role of organic–inorganic fluids or other affiliated organics in ore systems.  相似文献

A study of the influences of the basin brines on hydrocarbon generation of the Kupferschiefer in southwestern Poland has been carried out.The samples from the Konrad and Polkowics mines were analyzed by orgainc geochemical, microscopic and FTIR methods. The results indicate that organic matter of Kupferschiefer tends to decrease with the ascending, oxidizing brines,In the Konrad profile, the Kupferschiefer was strongly oxidized. The extract yields were depleted up to 50mg Ext/g Corg.Gas chromatography(GC) and gas chromatography-mass spctrometry(GC/MS) data indicate that the depletion occureed predominantly in saturated hydrocarbon compounds. The identified n-alkanes in smpale KD1 were depleted at least to 5000μg/g Corg. The aromatic compounds show a fidderent trend of variation. The concentrations of phenanthrene alkylphenanthrenes(Ph-PAH) and naphthalene alkylnaphthalenes(Na-PAH) show a decrease, whereas sulfur polyaromatic hydrocarbons(S-PAH)and oxygen polyaromatic hydrocarbons(O-PAH) show an incrase under the influences of oxidizing brines,In the Polkowice profile, organic matter under the influences of oxidizing fluids shows a simlar trend of varation as in the Konrad mine.Analyses of polar compounds shed light on the oxidation processes at the molecule level. The dominant products of oxidation are aliphatic acid.alcohol and ester.FTIR results indicate that the oxidation of organic matter led to a decrease in aliphatic CH3 and an increase in C-O,C=O bands.  相似文献

Syngenetic, diagenetic and epigenetic models have been proposed for the Cu?CZn?CPb Kupferschiefer mineralization at Sangerhausen, Germany. Paleomagnetic and rock magnetic measurements have been made on 205 specimens from mine workings on the margin of the Sangerhausen Syncline. The mineralization is richest in the ??0.5-m-thick Upper Permian (258?±?2?Ma) Kupferschiefer black marly shale (nine sites) and dies out over ??0.2?m in the underlying Weisliegend sandstones (three sites) and overlying Zechstein carbonates (two sites). Except for one site of fault zone gypsum, characteristic remanent magnetization directions were isolated for all 14 sites using alternating field and thermal step demagnetization. These directions provide a negative fold test, indicating that the remanence postdates Jurassic fault block tilting. Rock magnetic measurements show that the Kupferschiefer shale marks a redox front between the oxidized Weissliegend sandstones and non-oxidized Zechstein carbonates. The 14 site directions give a Late Jurassic paleopole at 149?±?3?Ma. It is significantly different from the paleopole reported by E.C. Jowett and others for primary or early diagenetic Rote F?ule alteration that gives an age of 254?±?6?Ma on the current apparent polar wander path and is associated with Kupferschiefer mineralization. We suggest that the Late Jurassic extensional tectonic event that formed the nearby North German Basin also reactivated Variscan basement faults and extended them up through the overlying strata, thereby allowing hydrothermal basement fluids to ascend and epigenetically mineralize the Kupferschiefer shale. The possibility of a 53?±?3?Ma mineralization age is also considered.  相似文献

Mining heaps are used as archives for the investigation of weathering processes. Aim of this work was to investigate the different weathering behavior of heap materials derived from Kupferschiefer mining with respect to environmental hazard. For this purpose, Kupferschiefer and slag material of two heaps of different age were examined regarding to the radionuclide distribution and geochemical composition. By measuring of the local dose rate, performing digital autoradiography and gamma spectrometry the radiological load of the heaps and the heap materials was determined. The geochemical characterization of the samples was performed by XRF, ICP–OES and ICP–MS. The results show a clear higher radionuclide load of the younger slag heap. A depletion of chalcophile and lithophile elements in the older slag was determined. Apart from a homogeneous radionuclide distribution, considerable radionuclide enrichments in fossil fragments could be proven. The results reveal a different weathering behavior of slag material in comparison to the Kupferschiefer depending on the chemical binding of the elements on organic and inorganic species. Natural organic matter as well as apatite in Kupferschiefer act as retention barrier for some metals.  相似文献

There are at least two sapropelic units associated with Late Palaeozoic black shales in Central Europe. The older unit, of Late Carboniferous age, is the lower part of the Anthracosia Shales in the Intrasudetic Basin, and the younger one is the well-known Zechstein Kupferschiefer in both the Foresudetic Monocline and the Northsudetic Basin. The first unit is of lacustrine origin, while the second one represents deposition in a shallow marine depositional environment. Both units contain high amounts of organic matter, thus being typical black shales. The organic matter dispersed in these shales was studied petrographically. In general, the vitrinite reflectance of the shales studied indicates variable, but moderate organic matter maturity (0.68–1.25%), equivalent to the oil window. Detailed microscopic studies of the organic material dispersed in the lower unit of the Anthracosia Shales showed that liptinite, especially alginite is the most abundant component. Secondary altered organic matter, i.e. solid hydrocarbons, rarely occurs. Organic components together with mineral matter constitute a lacustrine sapropelic association, a humic (terrestrial) association and an intermediary association. The character and predominance of alginite and lacustrine sapropelic association are indicative of an open-lacustrine depositional environment. In general, this organic composition is typical of type I kerogen.Microscopic analysis of the Kupferschiefer revealed a mixture of liptinite, vitrinite and inertinite macerals, and other organic components such as amorphous sapropelic mass (ASM) and solid bitumens. The most common organic components are liptinite macerals. Bituminite and alginite predominate, and are diagnostic macerals of this unit. The amount of bituminite locally exceeds 85 vol.%. Other liptinite macerals such as sporinite and liptodetrinite, are present in significantly lower amounts, one exception being ASM, which may be present in higher amounts. Humic constituents (vitrinite and inertinite) are rare, present in small amounts in the Kupferschiefer beds. The organic matter composition points to type II kerogen for this unit.  相似文献

Molecular biomarkers are the important maturity parameters for sedimentary organic matter. They have also been widely used for determining the maturity of organic matter in ore deposits. However, during the study of organic matter in the Kupferschiefer from the Lubin mine, it had been found that the biomarkers were influenced by sulfide formation. In order to probe into the degree of influence on biomarkers, seven samples collected from a Kupferschiefer section from the Lubin mine were analyzed by various geochemical methods. The results indicated that in the samples with higher copper contents, the values of biomarkers are lower than in the samples with lower copper contents. In highly mineralized samples, hydrogen donation for thermochemical sulfate reduction (TSR) occurred in alkylated phenanthrenes and naphthalenes, leading to the decrease of 12 biomarker parameters during the Kupferschiefer mineralization.  相似文献

Previous studies have shown that the ascending, oxidizing brines play a very important role in Kupferschiefer mineralization. Fractures could be the pathway of the brines. In order to clarify the influences of the brines on bulk organic matter, aromatic hydrocarbons and Kupferschiefer mineralization, one veinlet Kupferschiefer profile from the Lubin mine, southwestern Poland was studied with the microscopic, geochemical and Rock-Eval methods. The microscopic results indicate that organic matter of the veinlet sample consists dominantly of bitumen. Its extract content is higher than in other samples. The dominant aromatic compounds are naphthalene and alkylated naphthalenes (Na-PAH), which have migrated into the veinlet sample from other sediments. The content of phenanthrene and its methylated derivatives (Ph-PAH) is much lower than in other samples. The reason may be due to their heavier mass than Na-PAH. It is more difficult for Ph-PAH to migrate. The Na-PAH was probably removed from the shale by dist  相似文献
