The volume scattering function and size distribution of suspended particles in the surface water were determined in the North Pacific. The relationship between the scattering coefficient estimated from observed volume scattering function and cross-section concentration of the particles greater than 2.4m in diameter was found to be linear in both northern and southern regions of central North Pacific. Difference in the constant of proportionality between two regions, however, was very great. Moreover the constant in the southern region was too large compared with the values obtained by the Mie theory. This is considered to be due to the fact that particles smaller than 2.4m which were not measureable by the Coulter Counter, were neglected in the calculation of cross-section concentration. If small particles are taken into consideration, total cross-section concentration and scattering coefficient in the two regions tend to follow a linear relation. From the correlation between the scattering coefficient computed from size distribution and the volume scattering function, the refractive index of particles was estimated to be 1.03–1.05. By the same procedure, the refractive index of particles in Tateyama Harbour where the water was very turbid, was estimated to be also 1.03–1.05. This is in contrast to the result for the refractive index of particles originating from the river which flows into the harbour. This index was found to be 1.10–1.20.  相似文献

By using the two-flow optical model, the variation in the irradiance reflectance of the ocean just below the surface has been calculated for varying water optical properties, for the interpretation of remotely-sensed ocean color data. The input variables used in our model are the concentration of phytoplankton (chlorophyll-a), the absorption coeffiicient of yellow substance, the particle scattering coefficient, the ratio of the back-scattering coefficient to the total scattering coefficient of particles, and the ratio of the absorption to scattering coefficients for particles.The irradiance reflectance increases monotonically with the ratio of the back-scattering coefficient to the total scattering coefficient. Spectral changes occur in the irradiance reflectance for increases in chlorophyll-a concentration and yellow substance as well as the ratio of the absorption to scattering coefficients.Because slightly different mathematical expressions have been derived by other investigators using the two-flow model, an evaluation of the resulting calculation differences is presented and discussed.  相似文献

Basic characteristics of optical scattering in a mixed-phase cloud (asymmetry parameter of the scattering phase function and efficiency scattering factors and scattering coefficients) are considered. Theoretical consideration is based on the mixed-phase cloud model in the form of a uniform mixture of ice crystals and water droplets. Expressions allowing calculation of asymmetry parameter of the mixed-phase cloud scattering phase function are obtained as functions of the cloud temperature, average size of cloud particles, and ratios of the number densities of differently shaped ice crystals. Data calculated for the asymmetry parameter of infrared scattering in a mixed-phase cloud layer at its given temperature are presented.  相似文献

海洋中光后向散射系数的变化包含了浮游植物生物量的信息, 可应用于卫星遥感和光学剖面观测平台获取海洋中大时空尺度-高分辨率剖面的浮游植物生物量变化特征。本文选取了琼东上升流影响下生物—光学变异性较为显著的海域, 基于2013年航次实测数据, 建立了颗粒物后向散射系数(bbp)与叶绿素a浓度(Chl a)间的区域性关系模型。模型假定颗粒物后向散射系数由不随叶绿素浓度变化的固定背景值, 以及较大粒级(>2μm)和pico级(微微型, <2μm)两类浮游植物的后向散射贡献累加所得。采集的数据集进行了模型检验, 结果表明, 模型能很好地模拟琼东海域水体的bbp与Chl a间的变化趋势, 性能优于常用的幂函数关系模型, 尤其在低叶绿素浓度范围, 很好地解决幂函数显著低估的现象; 琼东海域的bbp和Chl a关系存在显著的水层变化, 底层后向散射固定背景值显著高于上层水体背景值, 表明底层受上升流的影响, 水体中不随Chl a共变的颗粒物浓度增大, 其后向散射相应增强; 叶绿素最大层的后向散射固定背景值显著低于上层其他水体的固定背景值, 后向散射固定背景值的贡献百分比约为21%~35%; 随着叶绿素浓度增大, 较大粒级的浮游植物对颗粒物后向散射系数的贡献也显著增大, 可达到50%以上, pico级浮游植物贡献稳定在40%附近。本研究的结果将为琼东海域浮游植物生物量的光学遥感、生物地球化学过程研究提供更为精确的区域性模型和基础支撑数据。  相似文献

辐射传输模式Hydrolight在国际水色遥感研究领域已被广泛用于解决水体光学的各种问题,也是进行石油类污染水体辐射传输特性研究的有效模型。结合Hydrolight模式的机理、应用现状及含油水体的特点,提出了将该模式应用于光学特性复杂的石油污染水体辐射传输特性研究时需要解决的关键技术,包括测定石油污染水体吸收系数和散射系数、建立石油污染吸收和散射特性随波长和深度变化的参数化模型、确定油物质的吸附后悬浮颗粒物体散射函数模型等方面。依据2018年8月和2016年8月分别在辽宁大连港和辽宁盘锦辽河油田等区域测定的含油水体数据,讨论了这些关键技术的解决方案。  相似文献

We compute model spectra of the beam attenuation coefficient in surface waters of the Mediterranean Sea. These spectra are used to determine the contribution of the components of seawater (suspended matter, yellow substance, pigments of phytoplankton, and pure water) to the beam attenuation coefficient in different types of seawater. For the surface waters, we establish the relationship between the light scattering coefficient and the attenuation coefficient at a wavelength of 547 nm and determine the background (limiting minimum) value of the coefficient of absorption by the yellow substance in waters of the Mediterranean Sea. It is compared with the values of the same parameter for some other basins (Black Sea, Lake Baikal, Baltic Sea, and oceanic waters).  相似文献

A correct understanding of the way in which light interacts with suspended particles is essential for quantitative interpretation of satellite visible band imagery of turbid shelf seas and estuaries. In this paper we describe new optical observations at 90 stations in the tidally energetic waters along the south and west coasts of Britain. The cross sectional area of the particles in suspension has been measured with a LISST laser diffraction instrument. Light scattering and absorption coefficients have been determined by applying Kirk’s method to radiometric measurements at 6 wavelengths. Results show that the scattering coefficient increases linearly with particle cross sectional area A per unit volume of water with a slope (scattering efficiency) of 1.96 (standard error 0.08) at 665 nm. Particle absorption coefficients aP also increase with particle cross sectional area but at the most turbid stations, particle absorption per unit area (aP/A) is observed to increase with the mean size of the particles in suspension. The particles are mostly mineral flocs which become more opaque as they grow larger and the photon path length through them increases. The implication of these results for remote sensing is that reflectance in the red part of the spectrum, which mainly depends on light scattering, is proportional to the cross sectional area of particles in suspension. Reflectance measurements in the green and blue parts of the spectrum, where particle absorption becomes more important, depend on the diameter of the particles as well as their cross sectional area. We show that simultaneous measurements of reflectance in the red and green parts of the spectrum can be used to derive both the area and size of the particles in suspension.  相似文献

Na, K, Mg, Ca, Fe, and Mn have been measured in both naturally occurring particulate matter and artificially created aggregates taken from water from the Nova Scotian coastal region and from the North Atlantic Ocean. The order of concentration of these elements is the same in both the aggregates and the natural particulate matter as it is in seawater. There is an inverse relationship between depth of the water and the amount of inorganic matter in artificially created aggregates, while a direct relationship is found with the naturally occurring particles. This direct relationship may reflect the utilization of organic material in the surface waters. Iron and manganese are enriched in both kinds of particles.  相似文献

The results of 2-year (2010–2012) measurements of the concentrations of organic carbon (OC) and elemental carbon (EC), which were taken at the Zotino Tall Tower Observatory (ZOTTO) Siberian background station (61° N, 89° E), are given. Despite the fact that this station is located far from populated areas and industrial zones, the concentrations of OC and EC in the atmosphere over boreal forests in central Siberia significantly exceed their background values. In winter and fall, high concentrations of atmospheric carbonaceous aerosol particles are caused by the long-range transport (~1000 km) of air masses that accumulate pollutants from large cities located in both southern and southwestern regions of Siberia. In spring and summer, the pollution level is also high due to regional forest fires and agricultural burning in the steppe zone of western Siberia in the Russian–Kazakh border region. Background concentrations of carbonaceous aerosol particles were observed within relatively short time intervals whose total duration was no more than 20% of the entire observation period. In summer, variations in the background concentrations of OC closely correlated with air temperature, which implies that the biogenic sources of organic-particle formation are dominating.  相似文献

本文着重分析了分光光度计测定的太湖水体中悬浮质、可溶性有机质和浮游藻类色素在可见光波段(400nm—700nm)的吸收;讨论了对池塘及两种高等植物色素吸收的对比测定;并利用迭代回归方法对测试样品的散射效应进行了订正。结果表明:(1)可溶性有机质吸收在短波部分较强;并且随着入射波长的增大,吸收几乎呈指数律减小,减小速率比国外海洋中的测量结果小。(2)水中悬浮质对光具有较强的散射作用,散射系数约按入射波长呈倒数变化。(3)不同植物中的色素的吸收光谱有明显差异。此外,利用所测数据,本文还对冬季太湖水体的反射光谱和向下光照衰减系数进行了数值计算,表明该水体对入射光照的反射和衰减与纯净水情况有很大差别,目此,太湖水光学特性研究中必须考虑水中物质的影响。  相似文献

水体悬浮物对溶解在水中的油及乳化油有吸附作用,这种作用会叠加在颗粒物上,对水体的后向散射系数产生影响,而水体后向散射系数是水色遥感的重要参数之一,对建立遥感反演石油类污染浓度半分析模型起着关键性的作用。根据2008年5月在辽宁省盘锦市辽河油田境内双台子河和绕阳河现场测定的水样,对水体组分进行浓度分析,并分别利用分光光度计及后向散射系数测量仪测定水色三要素的吸收系数和水体后向散射系数。根据获取的数据,对石油类污染水体后向散射特性进行分析,分别建立了(1)石油类污染水体后向散射系数光谱模型;(2)石油类污染水体和非石油类污染水体后向散射系数与无机悬浮物浓度的关系模型。研究结果表明:(1)在建立的后向散射系数光谱模型中,幂函数指数平均值为0.87;(2)从相关系数分析来看,对后向散射系数起主要作用的是无机悬浮物浓度,其次是石油类物质浓度,而有机悬浮物浓度几乎没有影响;(3)对于无石油类污染水体,后向散射系数与无机悬浮物浓度为对数关系模型,而与有石油类污染水体更接近线性关系模型。  相似文献

The solar radiation flux incident on the land surface and aerosol radiative forcing are calculated from measurements carried out under clear skies during the summers of 2004 and 2005 at the Zvenigorod Scientific Station (ZSS) of the A.M. Obukhov Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Russian Academy of Sciences. In these calculations, the following five models of aerosol optical parameters are used: a standard model of continental aerosol, a semiempirical model based on measurement data, and three models obtained from calculations on the basis of the Mie scattering theory for the mean size distribution of aerosol particles (which is retrieved from aureole measurements). A study of the sensitivity of the flux and forcing to the choice of aerosol model has shown that the relative error related to the model choice is not large (<5%) for the incident radiation flux and reaches 120% for aerosol forcing at the atmospheric upper boundary. The aerosol radiative forcing at the atmospheric upper boundary is also estimated and, according to our calculations, varies from −15 to −2 W/m2. The use (in calculations) of the values of the albedo of single-scattering and the factor of scattering-indicatrix asymmetry at a wavelength of 550 nm, which were obtained for each of the observation periods, has made it possible to significantly refine the value of aerosol radiative forcing (compared to that calculated for the means of these parameters over all the periods). An even more accurate determination of aerosol radiative forcing is possible only when data on the size-distribution of aerosol particles and their chemical composition for a certain situation under analysis are available. As a result of this study, two models of the optical parameters of background aerosol have been proposed for use in radiation calculations: a semiempirical model and a mean model obtained from the calculations based on the theory of scattering. Both models use the values of the albedo of single scattering and the factor of asymmetry (at a wavelength of 550 nm) retrieved from the measurements for each of the observation periods.  相似文献

The optical coefficients of soot particles are measured in a flow-through optical cell at the wavelength 635 nm in a dry atmosphere and in an atmosphere saturated with water vapor. Two types of systems modeling atmospheric soot aerosols and differing in the degree of hygroscopicity of their particles are investigated and compared. One of the systems contains hydrophobic acetylene soot, and the other contains hydrophilic soot obtained through modification of the initial soot by vapors of glutaric acid. The results show that the optical properties of hydrophobic soot depend only slightly on the conditions of moistening, whereas the optical properties of hydrophilic soot change abruptly upon its moistening because of the formation of a hydrate shell. In the atmosphere saturated with water-vapor, the monomolecular layer of a hydrophilic organic substance leads to the watering of particles and an abrupt (more than twofold) increase in the cross section of light scattering. A further growth of the hydrophilic component of soot particles initiates the formation of micron drops on them, thus resulting not only in the natural effect of light scattering enhancement but also in a noticeable light absorption increase. In particular, a light absorption enhancement by a factor of 3.5 is characteristic of particles of enriched hydrophilic soot.  相似文献

以长江口九段沙为研究对象,利用2015-04-05全极化Radarsat-2影像数据,首先进行了多视处理和精极化Lee滤波;然后通过Pauli极化分解提取出九段沙水体、潮沟、低矮植被和芦苇的奇次散射系数、45°二面角散射系数和二面角散射系数,并且对4种地物类型(潮沟、水体、低矮植被和芦苇)的3种参数的散射强度分别进行了统计分析;最后选择二面角散射系数作为潮沟信息提取的判别标准,采用区域生长法提取了潮沟信息,并利用数学形态学对区域生长法中的断裂潮沟进行了连接和非潮沟信息的消除。研究结果表明,潮沟和水体的奇次散射强度值分别为0.040和0.038,二者的45°二面角散射系数值为0.001和0.002;潮沟的二面角散射强度值为0.007,低矮植被和芦苇的二面角散射强度值分别为0.783和0.104。  相似文献

The role of surfactant organic matter in marine aerosol production has been studied under conditions in which there is a large coverage of whitecaps on the sea surface. To improve the knowledge of matter exchange and pollutant recycling from the sea surface into the atmosphere, a spray drop adsorption model (SDAM) was developed and the validity of the proposed model verified by the following experimental results: (1) an increase of surfactant matter on the sea surface during rough sea conditions (‘surface wave concentration'); (2) an (hyperbolic-like) increase of the enrichment ratio (ER) of surfactant fluorescent organic matter (SFOM), made up predominantly by humic substances (HS), as the particle size decrease; (3) a similar behaviour for elements with pollutant properties, and which are known to interact with HS and other surfactant materials, considered pollution tracers. An additional laboratory experiment, based on the adsorption model conditions, gives enrichment ratio greater than unity for K and Ca. The first results on marine aerosols trapped in marine clouds (at 1000 m above sea level and at 100 km from the coast) seem to further support the proposed model and its ability to predict the transition from saline to almost entirely organic particles for the smaller fractions of marine aerosols. The possible contribution of these particles to the recycling and to the long range transport of pollutants via marine aerosols has been considered.  相似文献

The spectral measurements of the attenuation coefficient of sea water and the absorption coefficient of suspended particles and of yellow substance were made with a spectrophotometer for the sea waters sampled in Tokyo Bay. These parameters can be used to compute the expected spectral irradiance reflectance. Some relationships between the optical properties of sea water and the concentration of dissolved organic carbon, the dry weight of suspended matter and chlorophyll-a concentration are presented. On the basis of these results, the possibility of modelling the relationship between optical and material properties is discussed.  相似文献
