Soil amplification characteristics of earthquake ground motion were investigated in terms of peak ground acceleration and transfer function based on the Chiba array observation records. The amplification of peak ground acceleration occurred mostly at the top soft layer and was similar for the three components. The effects of non-linear response of soil deposits on the transfer function were examined. Transfer functions calculated by ensemble average were close for the two horizontal components while those obtained from a smoothing operation were generally different. Both the transfer functions from the ensemble average and the smoothing operation underestimated the gain factor around the natural frequencies. A two-step smoothing procedure was proposed and a rotary spectrum was used to improve the estimation of the transfer function. Microtremors were observed at the locations of the boreholes where seismometers are buried. The power spectrum and spatial coherency of the microtremors were compared with those of the earthquake ground motion. Array observation is an efficient tool to investigate various characteristics of earthquake ground motion. However, seismographs used in arrays may involve unexpected errors in their orientations. Methods of orientation error estimation were developed in three-dimensional space by comparing recorded ground motions at a reference point with those at a checking point. A maximum cross-correlation method and a maximum coherence method were proposed and their accuracy was demonstrated. The earthquake ground motions recorded in the Chiba array and in two other arrays were used in numerical examples. Non-trivial orientation errors were detected for all these arrays. The cross-correlation coefficients and the coherence values between two points increased significantly by correcting the estimated orientation errors. 相似文献

A new type of indirect inverse analysis procedure is proposed to overcome the difficulties the geotechnical inverse analyses are encountering (such as unstability and non-uniqueness of the solutions as well as multicollinearity). These difficulties are eased by combining the objective information (i.e. the observation data) and the subjective information (i.e. the prior information) in an appropriate manner by so-called extended Bayesian method. The method is based on a new view on Bayesian model proposed by Akaike. The problem of model identification in the inverse analysis is also tackled by applying well-known AIC but of the Bayesian version. A case study on an embankment on soft clay is presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the new method. A rather thorough review on the geotechnical inverse analysis is also presented to indicate the necessity of the proposed procedure. A set of mapping functions in the form of convergent series for an infinite element, which is capable to include the infinitely distanced constant head boundary condition from the area of disturbance (e.g. pumping), is proposed based on the asymptotic far-field behaviour of typical seepage flow problems. The derived mapping functions have been successfully used in three-dimensional point symmetric, two-dimensional axi-symmetric and one-dimensional unidirectional flow for the fixed head boundary at infinite distance. The result shows excellent agreement with analytical solution. For the first time, the mapping function of an infinite element is presented in the form of a convergent series. The infinite elements are really capable of reducing the cost and efficiency of conventional finite element analysis. Finally, a figure is also proposed to indicate the required size of the near field to obtain accurate drawdown at specified locations based on some calculations for two-dimensional radial flow case. 相似文献

The lunar photometric function, which describes the dependency of the observed radiance on the observation geometry, is used for photometric correction of lunar visible/near-infrared data. A precise photometric correction parameter set is crucial for many applications including mineral identification and reflectance map mosaics. We present, for the first time, spectrally continuous photometric correction parameters for both sides of the Moon for wavelengths in the range 0.5-1.6 μm and solar phase angles between 5° and 85°, derived from Kaguya (SELENE) Spectral Profiler (SP) data. Since the measured radiance also depends on the surface albedo, we developed a statistical method for selecting areas with relatively uniform albedos from a nearly 7000-orbit SP data set. Using the selected data set, we obtained empirical photometric correction parameter sets for three albedo groups (high, medium, and low). We did this because the photometric function depends on the albedo, especially at phase angles below about 20° for which the shadow hiding opposition effect is appreciable. We determined the parameters in 160 bands and discovered a small variation in the opposition effect due to the albedo variation of mafic mineral absorption. The consistency of the photometric correction was checked by comparing observations made at different times of the same area on the lunar surface. Variations in the spectra obtained were lower than 2%, except for the large phase angle data in mare. Lastly, we developed a correction method for low solar elevation data, which is required for high latitude regions. By investigating low solar elevation data, we introduced an additional correction method. We used the new photometric correction to generate a 1° mesh global lunar reflectance map cube in a wavelength range of 0.5-1.6 μm. Surprisingly, these maps reveal that high latitude (?75°) regions in both the north and south have much lower spectral continuum slopes (color ratio r1547.7nm/r752.8nm ? 1.8) than the low and medium latitude regions, which implies lower degrees of space weathering. 相似文献

An estimated 3.5 ± 0.7 × 1015 Bq of 137Cs is thought to have been discharged into the ocean following the melt down at Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Plant (F1NPP). While efforts have been made to monitor seafloor radiation levels, the sampling techniques used cannot capture the continuous distribution of radionuclides. In this work, we apply in situ measurement techniques using a towed gamma ray spectrometer to map the continuous distribution of 137Cs on the seafloor within 20 km of the F1NPP. The results reveal the existence of local 137Cs anomalies, with levels of 137Cs an order of magnitude higher than the surrounding seafloors. The sizes of the anomalies mapped in this work range from a few meters to a few hundreds of meters in length, and it is demonstrated that the distribution of these anomalies is strongly influenced by meter scale features of the terrain. 相似文献

In this study, individual Japanese flounder were intraperitoneally injected with 2 μg tributyltin-d27 (TBT-d27) fish−1. Blood samples were collected on day 7 after injection. TBT-binding protein types 1 and 2 (TBT-bp1, -bp2) in the blood serum were quantified by western blotting analysis. As a result, the concentration of TBT-bp2 in TBT-d27 treated group increased to 220% of that in the solvent control, whereas the TBT-bp1 concentration decreased to 65% of that in the solvent control. Additionally, a positive relationship between the concentrations of TBT-bp2 and TBT was observed in blood sera of wild and cultured flounder. We suggest that TBT-bp2 is produced in response to TBT exposure and may play an important role in fish physiology. 相似文献

New 40Ar-39Ar geochronology, bulk rock geochemical data, and physical characteristics for representative stratigraphic sections of rhyolite
ignimbrites and lavas from the west-central Snake River Plain (SRP) are combined to develop a coherent stratigraphic framework
for Miocene silicic magmatism in this part of the Yellowstone ‘hotspot track’. The magmatic record differs from that in areas
to the west and east with regard to its unusually large extrusive volume, broad lateral scale, and extended duration. We infer
that the magmatic systems developed in response to large-scale and repeated injections of basaltic magma into the crust, resulting
in significant reconstitution of large volumes of the crust, wide distribution of crustal melt zones, and complex feeder systems
for individual eruptive events. Some eruptive episodes or ‘events’ appear to be contemporaneous with major normal faulting,
and perhaps catastrophic crustal foundering, that may have triggered concurrent evacuations of separate silicic magma reservoirs.
This behavior and cumulative time-composition relations are difficult to relate to simple caldera-style single-source feeder
systems and imply complex temporal-spatial development of the silicic magma systems. Inferred volumes and timing of mafic
magma inputs, as the driving energy source, require a significant component of lithospheric extension on NNW-trending Basin
and Range style faults (i.e., roughly parallel to the SW–NE orientation of the eastern SRP). This is needed to accommodate
basaltic inputs at crustal levels, and is likely to play a role in generation of those magmas. Anomalously high magma production
in the SRP compared to that in adjacent areas (e.g., northern Basin and Range Province) may require additional sub-lithospheric
processes.

Adult pharyngeal teeth in Mylopharyngodon piceus are molariform. Based on SEM observations ofthe developing teeth, this paper describes the morphological diversification of pharyngeal teeth in M.piceus. The larval and juvenile teeth are changed from conical to adult molariform teeth through sevenstages. Comparisons are made between each stage and corresponding types in some species of differentsubfamilies in Cyprinidae. It is considered that the ontogenetic resemblances of the pharyngeal teehbear relationship to the phylogeny of cyprinids. 相似文献

A three-dimensional seismometer array was installed in the Chiba Experiment Station of the Institute of Industrial Science, University of Tokyo in 1982. The array system consists of 44 three-component accelerometers densely placed both on the ground surface and in boreholes. A complementary system for the measurement of ground and buried pipe strains was also installed at the same site. The array system has been successfully in operation, and more than 160 earthquakes have been recorded. Considering a wide use of these seismograms, the Chiba array database has recently been created comprising twenty-seven major events. This paper describes the Chiba array system and its strong motion database. Results of engineering analysis using the selected records are also presented. 相似文献
